    Cubs released LHP Tony Cingrani.
Cingrani allowed just five runs (four earned) with a 15/4 K/BB ratio across 10 innings (12 appearances) at Triple-A Iowa after inking a minor-league deal with the Cubs back in early July. The 32-year-old lefty hasn’t appeared in the majors since 2018.

Cubs signed LHP Tony Cingrani to a minor league contract.
Cingrani posted a 1.13 ERA and 14/1 K/BB ratio over eight innings for the independent league Lexington Legends in what was his first game action since he had labrum surgery on his left shoulder. The 31-year-old is worthy of a flier on a minor league pact for the Cubs.

Tony Cingrani has signed with the Lexington Legends.
The Legends are a part of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, and are not affiliated with any MLB club. The left-hander worked out for teams on February 1, but failed to secure a contract and now will get a chance to throw in the side league. A former third-round pick, Cingrani has dealt with injuries and hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2018 with the Dodgers.

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that free agent left-hander Tony Cingrani will throw for teams on February 1.
Cingrani failed to latch on with a team last year after requiring labrum surgery in 2019. The 31-year-old last pitched for the Dodgers in 2018, posting a 4.76 ERA with 36 strikeouts and six walks in 22 2/3 relief innings. He might have to settle for a spring training invite somewhere.

According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, free agent reliever Tony Cingrani is “drawing a ton of interest.”
Cingrani required season-ending surgery last June while still a member of the Dodgers. He then got traded to the Cardinals in July as part of a salary dump move involving Jedd Gyorko. The 30-year-old left-hander is apparently healthy now and could be a useful springtime addition for some club. He owns a 4.01 ERA with 366 strikeouts in 334 2/3 career major league innings and has held left-handed hitters to a .215/.302/.391 slash line.

Cardinals acquired LHP Tony Cingrani and RHP Jeffry Abreu from the Dodgers for INF Jedd Gyorko 2019-20 international cap space and cash.
Cingrani had season-ending shoulder surgery in June and is a free agent this winter, so this is all about salary changing hands.

Dodgers transferred LHP Tony Cingrani from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Tony Gonsolin. Cingrani had season-ending shoulder surgery earlier this month.

Tony Cingrani had season-ending left shoulder labrum surgery on Monday.
Cingrani has dealt with shoulder issues off and on for several years and finally had to go under the knife. He will be a free agent this winter and it’s unclear when he’ll be ready to pitch again.

Tony Cingrani will have arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder next week.
Cingrani has been out all season with shoulder issues and is not expected to return this year. He’s slated to hit free agency next winter.

Tony Cingrani underwent and MRI on his left shoulder on Wednesday.
No word on the results just yet. Cingrani left Friday’s rehab appearance for Triple-A Oklahoma City due to “renewed” left shoulder soreness. He’s missed the entire season due to the shoulder issue, and we won’t have an idea of when -- or if -- he’ll make his 2019 debut until we find out the MRI results.
