Tyler Saladino has been waived by the Samsung Lions of the Korea Baseball Organization.
The move opens up a roster spot for fellow former major leaguer and fellow former White Sox player Daniel Palka. Saladino had batted .280/.411/.477 with six home runs and six stolen bases through 44 games with the Lions before suffering a back injury. He can opt to join a new KBO team or maybe try to return to MLB.

  • INT Shortstop #13
Tyler Saladino has signed with the Samsung Lions of the Korea Baseball Organization.
The deal carries a $100,000 signing bonus with a $700,000 salary. He could earn an additional $100,000 with incentives. Saladino was non-tendered by the Brewers earlier this month after batting just .123/.197/.215 with two homers and eight RBI in 71 plate appearances in the majors in 2019. He would have likely had to settle for a minor league deal this winter, so now he gets a guaranteed gig overseas.
  • INT Shortstop #13
    Brewers non-tendered INF Tyler Saladino.
The 30-year-old was a disaster in his limited time with the Brewers in 2019, slashing .123/.197/.215 with two homers and eight RBI in 71 plate appearances. He was projected by MLBTradeRumors.com to earn $1.0 via arbitration this off-season. He’ll probably have to settle for a minor league deal this winter.
  • INT Shortstop #13
Tyler Saladino will not join the Brewers for the final few weeks of the regular season after experiencing a setback with his ailing shoulder on Saturday.
Counsell has been battling a left shoulder injury over the past few weeks and was just unable to get over the hump in his recovery. He’ll have plenty of time to heal over the winter.
  • INT Shortstop #13
Tyler Saladino got a cortisone injection for his ailing left shoulder on Tuesday.
Saladino will now head to Arizona to begin rehabbing and could potentially join the Brewers at some point in September, though that’s not a sure thing. The 30-year-old utility infielder injured the shoulder while playing in a game at Triple-A San Antonio earlier this month.
  • INT Shortstop #13
Tyler Saladino has traveled to Milwaukee to undergo an MRI on his ailing left shoulder.
Saladino suffered the injury a few days ago while at Triple-A San Antonio. We’ll have to see what the MRI says, but the Brewers are confident that the injury won’t be serious enough to keep Saladino from helping out in September.
  • INT Shortstop #13
Brewers optioned INF Tyler Saladino to Triple-A San Antonio.
This move clears out a 25-man roster spot for outfield prospect Trent Grisham, who will make his major league debut on Thursday versus the Athletics. Saladino will probably be back up in September, or perhaps earlier.
  • KC 3rd Baseman #18
Mike Moustakas is absent from the Brewers’ lineup Sunday.
He’ll take a seat with the Cubs throwing lefty Jose Quintana. Tyler Saladino is at third base.
  • KC 3rd Baseman #18
Mike Moustakas is absent from the Brewers’ lineup Wednesday.
It appears to be a routine day off. Tyler Saladino is at third base.
  • INT Shortstop #13
Tyler Saladino went 1-for-4 with a grand slam and a stolen base on Monday in a loss to the Reds.
Now this is weird, folks. Saladino now has two homers on the season, and they have come in the last two games, and they both were grand slams. They also both gave the Brewers the lead -- this one came off Raisel Iglesias in the bottom of the eighth to make it 5-4 -- but unlike Sunday, the Brewers weren’t able to hang on. There’s zero reason to have Saladino on your fantasy roster, but credit where credit is due; this is an impressive fete.
