    Texans waived WR Tyron Johnson.
Johnson was waived to make room for Amari Rodgers, who Houston claimed from the Packers. Johnson had one catch for eight yards in two games with the Texans. He could find a home on a practice squad in the coming days.

  • FA Wide Receiver #12
Texans signed WR Tyron Johnson to the active roster.
It could be an indication that Nico Collins’ groin injury might keep him sidelined for Week 8. Johnson isn’t fantasy viable, however. Look for Phillip Dorsett and Chris Moore to see starter’s snaps if Collins is out.

  • FA Wide Receiver #12
    Raiders waived WR Tyron Johnson.
Johnson had played just four offensive snaps in two active games with the team. The speed merchant is also a fine returner and managed 398 receiving yards and three touchdowns in Justin Herbert’s rookie season with the Chargers. He may draw some interest on waivers.

  • FA Wide Receiver #12
WR Tyron Johnson is expected to be claimed by the Jaguars on waivers.
The Jaguars have first priority on waiver claims and will use the advantage to claim Johnson. The third-year UDFA was a surprise cut by the Chargers, after flashing last year with Los Angeles with and excellent 2.44 yards per route run. Johnson enters a Jaguars depth chart without a clear No. 4 wide receiver. It’s a best base landing spot for Johnson that gives him an opportunity to play meaningful snaps in 2021.

  • FA Wide Receiver #12
    Chargers waived WR Tyron Johnson.
Johnson was competing for the WR3 gig in Los Angeles this summer but was apparently unable to pass Jalen Guyton or rookie Josh Palmer. Exclusively a deep threat, Johnson didn’t offer enough versatility to make the Chargers’ 53-man roster. After averaging 15.3 yards per target while racking up 398 yards last year, he should draw some attention on waivers or as a premier practice squad stash once rosters become final.

  • FA Wide Receiver #12
Tyron Johnson caught 2-of-2 targets for 35 yards in the Chargers’ Week 17 win over the Chiefs.
A second-year UDFA out of Oklahoma State, Johnson is a long-ball specialist who hauled in a ridiculous four 50-plus yard grabs on only 20 total catches. That’s a valuable “real life” skill-set, but turning 25 on Jan. 8, Johnson is highly unlikely to develop into a consistently valuable fantasy asset. It’s not even a guarantee he cracks the 2021 53-man roster, but he has put himself in a good position.

  • CHI Wide Receiver #13
Keenan Allen (hamstring) did not practice Thursday.
It’s no surprise, as Allen is not expected to suit up in Week 17 against KC. The veteran missed Week 16 after hobbling through some of the team’s Week 15 game. Mike Williams, Jalen Guyton, and Tyron Johnson are all very much in play this week against the Chiefs, who are expected to rest many of their starters.

  • FA Wide Receiver #12
Tyron Johnson caught 3-of-3 targets for 26 yards in the Chargers’ Week 16 win over the Broncos.
Johnson started with Keenan Allen sidelined but remains a distant option in the target pecking order. Jalen Guyton would be the No. 2 if Allen misses again in Week 17. Johnson will need to come down with a deep target to pay off as a desperation play.

  • CHI Wide Receiver #13
Keenan Allen (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday.
That makes two missed practices in a row for Allen, who was limited in Week 15 against the Raiders. He’ll have ten days between games before Sunday’s matchup with Denver, but he remains iffy. Allen will need to practice Thursday and Friday to have a decent shot to play this week. Even then, the team could limit his snaps, creating another headache for fantasy managers. Tyron Johnson and Hunter Henry would benefit from Allen being out or limited.

  • FA Wide Receiver #12
Tyron Johnson caught 3-of-7 targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers’ Week 15 win over the Raiders.
With Keenan Allen and Mike Williams both at far less than 100 percent, second-year UDFA Johnson was second amongst Bolts receivers in snaps at 39-of-66 (per PFF). The largely-unknown wideout now has 9/116/2 over his past two games after entering Week 14 with 6/221/1. His score this evening was a 26-yarder where Justin Herbert threaded the needle near the goal line. Depending on Allen and Williams’ health, Johnson could have some last-gasp WR5 for Week 16 vs. the Broncos.
