    Raiders waived G/T Vadal Alexander.
Alexander was cut with the “non-football injury” designation. Facing a four-game suspension for violating the league’s PED policy, Alexander did not report to camp. The No. 234 overall pick of the 2016 draft, Alexander made four starts last season but was a liability at right tackle. Alexander might not land a workout until he’s served his four-game ban.

Raiders signed No. 234 overall pick OG Vadal Alexander to a four-year contract.
Alexander was thought to be a Day 2 prospect entering the draft, but inconsistent tape and athletic concerns caused him to fall all the way to the seventh round. Despite the fall, Alexander has the size (6'5/326) and run blocking ability to become a lower-end starter at guard if he improves his footwork and balance. He’ll have ample time to develop on Oakland’s stacked offensive line.
  • FA Guard #74
NFL suspended Raiders G/T Vadal Alexander four games for violating the league’s PED policy.
With the Raiders’ bye not until Week 7, Alexander will be eligible to return in Week 5. The No. 234 overall pick of the 2016 draft, Alexander has made nine starts over the past two seasons, including four in 2017. This won’t endear him to new coach Jon Gruden.

Raiders selected LSU OG Vadal Alexander with the No. 234 overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft.
Alexander (6'5/326) made 46 career starts for the Tigers, 25 at left guard and 21 at right tackle. He earned second-team All-American honors as a senior. Long armed (35 1/4") with huge hands (10 1/2"), Alexander is a downhill power blocker who underachieved on college tape, too often failing to sustain blocks and consistently struggling with edge speed. Alexander’s best chance to hang in the NFL will be as a mauling, phone-booth guard.
