Jaguars re-signed OT William Robinson to a two-year contract.
A former undrafted free agent out of San Diego State, the 27-year-old Robinson has appeared in one career NFL game. The deal is likely for the minimum in both seasons. Robinson will have to fight just for a roster spot in 2012.
  • FA Tackle #68
Saints signed OT William Robinson from their practice squad.
Robinson will replace Charles Brown (hip flexor) as Zach Strief’s backup at right tackle.
  • FA Tackle #68
Jaguars claimed OT William Robinson off waivers from the Saints.
A journeyman third-year tackle, Robinson’s only NFL appearance came in 2009 with the Redskins. He’ll likely be active as insurance for Sunday’s finale.
  • FA Tight End #88
Saints re-signed TE Tory Humphrey and waived OT Will Robinson.
Humphrey is needed because blocking TE John Gilmore suffered a potentially severe ankle injury in Monday’s win over Atlanta. Robinson has practice squad eligibility remaining and will likely resurface there after clearing waivers.
  • Saints placed RT Bryce Harris (broken leg) on injured reserve, ending his season.
TE Michael Higgins was signed to the active roster in a corresponding move. Harris broke his leg in Sunday’s game versus the 49ers. With Zach Strief and Charles Brown also injured, the Saints could be turning to fourth-stringer William Robinson as their Week 13 starter at Atlanta. Harris will have to battle for a roster spot in 2013.
  • FA Tackle #68
    Saints signed OT William Robinson.
Veteran roster yo-yo Greg Camarillo was released in a corresponding move. Robinson spent time on the Saints practice squad last season before joining the Jaguars in December. He will add depth with Zach Strief (groin) and Charles Brown (knee) nursing injuries.
  • FA Tackle #67
Redskins RT Stephon Heyer is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys after reinjuring his knee in Week 15.
Heyer is nothing special, but he’s much better than backup Will Robinson. The Redskins have used 11 different offensive linemen this season and it’s amazing Jason Campbell’s head is still attached to his body.
  • FA Tackle #67
With RT Stephon Heyer (knee) unable to practice the past two days, Will Robinson will likely draw the start for the Redskins on Monday night.
Robinson was promoted from the practice squad just last week, and will have to make his NFL debut against All-Pro DE Justin Tuck. Rather than move bodies around on the line, coach Jim Zorn said he’ll gamble with Robinson. It would be Washington’s eighth different offensive line combo this season.
  • FA Tackle #68
Seahawks signed T William Robinson off the Redskins’ practice squad.
Robinson is the latest in what has been a revolving door of linemen for the Seahawks, who have dealt with injuries to their O-line all season. He’ll be around for depth purposes only.
  • FA Tackle #68
    Redskins waived T Will Robinson.
Robinson was thrust into action last season when the Redskins’ line was decimated by injuries, but that was predictably a disaster. He’s backup-caliber at best.
