Egbo, who earned a rest-of-season contract with the Aces in September after being signed to two separate seven-day deals, could not do enough to hold onto a roster spot this spring. The 2022 first-round pick out of Baylor played in Las Vegas’ two exhibition games but only logged seven minutes, including five in Tuesday’s win over the Mercury. As for Turner, the 2024-25 Ivy League Player of the Year was selected with the 35th overall pick in last month’s draft. Given the Aces’ combination of depth, experience and talent on the perimeter, she faced a challenging competition for a roster spot.
  • Turner was a four-time All-Ivy selection at Harvard, most recently winning Player of the Year honors as a senior. The 5-foot-10 guard led the way for a Crimson squad that went 24-5 and won the Ivy League tournament title this past spring. In 29 games, Turner averaged 22.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.8 steals and 2.5 three-pointers per game. While her scoring ability immediately jumps off the tape, especially in the two-person game, so do Turner’s defensive instincts. She can disrupt passing lanes with the best of them in this draft class, having averaged at least 2.2 steals per game in each of her four seasons at Harvard. Turner had the basketball in her hands a lot at Harvard; that won’t be the case in Las Vegas if she can make the team. In addition to Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young, the Aces acquired Jewell Loyd from the Storm this offseason.
