  • CIN Wide Receiver #5
Higgins didn’t practice all week before head coach Zac Taylor told reporters he is expected to be listed as doubtful. Fantasy managers and Bengals fans can comfortably rule him out for Week 2. That leaves Cincinnati with Andrei Iosvias as their No. 2 receiver for the second week in a row. Iosivas ran a route on every one of Joe Burrow’s dropbacks in Week 1 but only managed three catches and 26 yards on six targets. Iosivas is a low-floor FLEX option heading into a tough matchup with the Kansas City defense this week.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #1
Daboll said the team played it safe during Thursday’s practice and limited the rookie wideout after he reported that his knee “didn’t feel right.” Nabers is fully expected to practice Friday and should be a full go for Sunday against the Commanders. Nabers had a disappointing NFL debut, with five catches on just seven targets for 66 scoreless yards.
  • KC Wide Receiver #5
Brown, who suffered a serious shoulder injury in mid-August, will undergo surgery to repair the injury. Schultz said the Chiefs will “monitor” Brown’s progress throughout the season. It would appear he’ll miss much of the regular season with a potential late season or postseason return. That sets up Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy as the Chiefs’ top two wideouts. Patrick Daugherty, Kyle Dvorchyk, and Denny Carter talked about the Kansas City wideouts on the latest Rotoworld Football Show.
  • MIA Quarterback #19
McDaniel described Thompson, who came in for Tagovailoa on Thursday night after Tagovailoa suffered a brain injury, as the “next man up.” McDaniel added the team would likely make a depth signing at quarterback in the coming days. Thompson will be a massive downgrade for everyone in the Miami offense. He was 8 for 14 for 80 scoreless yards on Thursday night against the Bills.
  • BUF Running Back #4
The first three-touchdown effort of Cook’s career puts him 50 percent of the way to his 2023 scoring total, and 33 percent of the way to his previous career touchdown total. Although he cashed in a one-yard goal-line carry in the second quarter, he had big plays to thank, housing a first quarter 4th-and-3 reception for a 17-yard leakout TD and turning a late second quarter handoff into a 49-yard score. The Bills’ OL opened up a huge gap on the 49-yarder and Cook used his speed to leave the Dolphins in the dust. Awesome stuff, especially after Cook handled 22 touches in Week 1. Although Ray Davis and Ty Johnson are both getting snaps, it appears Cook has earned a new level of trust from the Bills’ coaching staff in Year 3. He’ll be in the RB1 mix for Week 3 against the Jaguars.
  • MIA Running Back #28
With Raheem Mostert (chest) out and Tua Tagovailoa struggling mightily before departing with a concussion, Achane set a new career high for touches by seven. Supposedly “questionable” with an ankle injury, Achane was the Dolphins’ offensive focal point from the opening whistle. That included playing deep into a game that was essentially over minutes into the second half. Achane ceded just seven combined handles to backups Jeff Wilson and Jaylen Wright. The mammoth workload on short rest with injury is obviously extremely bullish for Achane’s going-forward usage, even if Mostert’s absence is limited to one game. Achane will be an upside RB1 for Week 3 against the Seahawks.
  • MIA Quarterback #1
It’s the worst possible news for a player with a long history of head injuries. Scrambling past the chains for a critical conversion on a fourth down in the red zone, Tagovailoa failed to slide and took a big hit from Bills S Damar Hamlin. He immediately appeared to go into the “fencing position,” a tell-tale sign of a concussion. Tagovailoa remained down for several moments before making his way to the sideline, then locker room, unassisted. Skylar Thompson is in the game at quarterback and will play the final 1.5 quarters. Tagovailoa was struggling mightily before going down, tossing three picks and failing to challenge down the field. The only good news is that he has 10 days to get cleared for Week 3 against the Seahawks. Considering his injury history, however, Tagovailoa will probably miss multiple weeks, perhaps requiring a stint on injured reserve.
  • SEA Running Back #9
Oh dear. The Seahawks initially tried to project optimism on Walker’s status, but back-to-back DNPs definitely have him on the wrong side of questionable. Even a “limited” return on Friday would have Walker in much better shape to suit up vs. the Pats, but for now it’s looking like it will be the Zach Charbonnet show.
  • MIA Running Back #28
After some early-week intrigue and talk of a potential game-time decision, Achane never seemed particularly close to sitting. That’s great news for a Dolphins team missing Raheem Mostert (chest), and even better news for fantasy managers who took the Achane plunge on the Round 2/3 borderline. There is definitely some increased risk of Achane not finishing tonight’s contest, but if you drafted Achane, we never heard a good reason to bench him this week. Joining Mostert on the shelf are CB Ethan Bonner, EDGE Mohamed Kamara, C Andrew Meyer, LB Channing Tindall and WR Malik Washington.
  • GB Quarterback #10
This was the expectation all along after Jordan Love was injured Week 1 in Brazil, but coach Matt LaFleur has done what head coaches do and tried to confuse the issue heading into Sunday against the Colts. There has been zero actual indication Love could start this Sunday, and fantasy managers should indeed continue to plan on a multiple-week absence.
