  • CHC Starting Pitcher #18
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Imanaga didn’t have to be at his best with Zebby Matthews giving up a couple handful of runs, but he certainly was close to it. The southpaw scattered six hits and a walk, and he was able to strike out four. He generated nine swings-and-misses, and just seven balls hit off Imanaga registered as hard contact. Imanaga will take a 3.91 ERA into a scheduled start Saturday against the Pirates.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #26
McLean gave up two hits, walked two and struck out 10. He improved to 7-6 with the win. McLean had been pitching well in his last three starts entering Sunday with only two runs allowed in 18 innings with 19 strikeouts. Against the Phillies, he was dominant with 10 strikeouts and only four baserunners allowed. McLean has a 3.34 ERA. He’s lined up to face the Dodgers at home next weekend.
  • MIL Catcher #24
With the Brew Crew trailing 1-0, Contreras changed that in a hurry with a three-run homer off Pete Fairbanks to give Milwaukee the victory in the series finale. It’s just the 10th homer of the season for the 28-year-old — who otherwise has put together a solid season — and he’s now driven in 57 runs in 98 games. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Contreras starts seeing more balls going over the fence over the summer months, but in the meantime, at least he contributes in the average category as seen in his .280 mark.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #18
Yamamoto, who did throw two complete games in the postseason last year, allowed four hits, walked none and struck out seven in a 102-pitch masterpiece. He gave up a homer to Trent Grisham in the fourth. The other run came in the eighth after center fielder Andy Pages lost Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s flyball in the sun for a double, and Anthony Volpe followed with an RBI single. Yamamoto is the first pitcher to throw a complete game against the Yankees since Sandy Alcantara on Aug. 12, 2023. He’ll take a 10-6 record and a 2.78 ERA into his next outing against the Mets.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #29
In what very likely could be one of — if not the — final starts as a member of the Tigers, Skubal was brilliant. He allowed five hits that were all singles, and he generated an impressive 19 swings-and-misses over 87 pitches. It lowers his ERA to 2.83 on the season, and improves his K/BB to 98/11. Recent reports have Skubal more likely to be traded than sticking around Detroit past the deadline, but for now, the 29-year-old will get the nod again against the Royals on Friday.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #80
Because of the forecasted rain, the two clubs won’t take a chance of getting the game in. Instead, the two teams will play a doubleheader Sunday, beginning at 12:35 P.M. ET. Emmett Sheehan and Ryan Weathers — no pun intended — were the scheduled starters for Saturday’s game, and likely will pitch at some point Sunday in the twin billing.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #38
Bradish hasn’t had his best season — in fact it’s been his worst by ERA at 3.61 since his rookie campaign — but it’s certainly understandable why Baltimore would want to wrap the 29-year-old up at a rate that makes sense for both parties. For his career, he owns a The right-hander will pitch at or near the top of the Baltimore rotation for the remainder of the decade, barring a trade, of course. He owns a career 3.50 ERA, 9.4 K/9 and 1.20 WHIP over his 465 career innings.
  • SEA Center Fielder #44
Rodríguez returns to Seattle’s lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Giants at T-Mobile Park after missing just over two weeks recovering from a concussion, but will begin his second half as the designated hitter, with Luke Raley handling center field. The 25-year-old franchise cornerstone was hitting .259/.323/.424 with 14 home runs, 40 RBI and 12 steals in 378 plate appearances across 87 games to open the season. His presence should provide an immediate lift for Seattle’s offense.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #17
Jones drew the starting assignment for the front-end of Saturday’s doubleheader at Progressive Field and touched triple digits 11 times during an impressive 74-pitch outing where he leaned almost exclusively on his fastball and slider. The lone run against him came on an RBI triple from Travis Bazzana with two outs in the third inning. The Pirates have been cautious with his workload as he returns from Tommy John surgery, but he’s looked outstanding since the start of July, allowing just two runs while compiling a 23/3 K/BB ratio over 15 innings across his last three starts. He should be rostered in all fantasy leagues at this point based on his strikeout upside alone.
  • MIL 2nd Baseman #2
Braden Shewmake takes over at the keystone with Turang taking a seat after fouling a ball off his right foot during Friday’s second-half opener. He’s delivered top-three fantasy value at second base this season, hitting .263/.359/.460 with 66 runs scored, 14 homers, 60 RBI and 15 steals in 421 plate appearances through 92 games. It’s unclear whether there are any plans for him to undergo imaging at this juncture. There should be a more definitive update on his status later this weekend. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
