Round 25 of the SuperMotocross World Championship at Washougal (Wash.) MX Park, Round 8 of Pro Motocross, is important for Jett Lawrence. After losing focus last week in the second moto and crashing out of the lead, he now faces a 10-point deficit to the hottest rider on the circuit, his brother Hunter Lawrence.
This will be a good test of whether recent momentum or a rider’s track record is most important.
This has not been a particularly good venue for Jett. It is not uncommon for Jett to have either swept a track during his four seasons on a 450, but he has only one win at Washougal. He was equally impressive on a 250, but he has only one win in that division as well.
Hunter’s record is worse with no podiums in the 450 division and only two on a 250. He leads the league in holeshots with six, and it will take two more strong starts to contend this weekend.
That could prove beneficial for Haiden Deegan, who has four moto victories and two second-place finishes in six starts in the 250 division. This is his best opportunity to win his first 450 moto and if all goes well, perhaps even the overall. He won the 250 overall in 2024; last year, he lost to Jo Shimoda on the tie-breaker.
In seven rounds, Hunter has had the red plate four times (after Pala, Hangtown, RedBud, and now Spring Creek). Jett has had it following three rounds (Thunder Valley, High Point, and Southwick). No one has had it for more than two consecutive rounds.
Washougal is important for Eli Tomac as well. He has never failed to score a moto podium at Washougal, but with the speed shown by the Lawrence brothers and Deegan, the competition for box has rarely been greater. That streak could end this week. Tomac finished ninth and 12th last week in Spring Creek.

Levi Kitchen will enter the Washougal National with the greatest points gap of 2026. In front of his hometown crowd, he expects to protect a 24-point lead over Cole Davies
Julien Beaumer became the 98th small bike winner and the sixth different rider to stand on top of the box last week in Spring Creek. That also makes him the fourth rider in 2026 to earn his first career victory, joining Seth Hammaker, Cole Davies, and Sacha Coenen. If there is one more overall winner, that will set a record for unique winners in this class.
Carson Mumford finished third in Moto 2 last week in Spring Creek. That was a career-best.
