High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania, has been a holiday tradition for its entire history with races run on Memorial Day and Father’s Day since 1977, and in 2026 it marks the 21st race of the SuperMotocross World Championship, Round 4 of the Pro Motocross series. After missing 2020 because of COVID-19 restrictions, it is now in its 49th running.
This race is special in part because it is the home race for the Pro Motocross series, with headquarters located less than 20 miles from the track in Morgantown, West Virginia.
After winning four consecutive motos and winning the last two rounds of Pro Motocross, Jett Lawrence has mended his ankle enough that it no longer hampers his performance. That is bad news for the competition, but it gets worse: He has been perfect at the next four venues, according to WeWentFast.com, after going three for three at High Point, two consecutive wins at RedBud, three at Southwick, and two at Spring Creek.
If Jett sweeps the motos again this week, he will take sole possession of fifth on the all-time Motocross moto chart with 50. He’ll need another 18 to reach third, which currently held by Rick Johnson and Ryan Dungey, and there are not enough motos remaining for him to achieve that milestone in 2025.
UPDATE: Justin Barcia out with a back injury
Hunter Lawrence is the only rider in Motocross history to perfectly earn 25 top-five finishes in his first 25 starts. It was hard fought through crashes and a penalty, but he surpassed Jeff Emig and Jean-Michelle Bayle last week in Thunder Valley.
Dylan Ferrandis (2021) is the only other active winner entered this week. The 2022 victor, Eli Tomac, remains sidelined after a vicious crash in the Motocross season-opener at Fox Raceway.
250 Notes
Thirty-seven riders have won at High Point in the small bike division and that is guaranteed to increase this week since none of the previous winners are entered.
Levi Kitchen (third in 2025), Jo Shimoda (third in 2022), Chance Hymas (third in 2024), and Austin Forkner (second in 2018) have overall podiums.
Kitchen’s win last week in Thunder Valley gave him enough points to hold the red plate for the first time in his Motocross career.
Shimoda’s victory last week in Thunder Valley was a relief for Honda and its 250 campaign, but the Japanese rider has been close. Through six MX motos, he is the only rider with a sweep of the top 10.
Seven riders have stood on the 250 podium this year (out of a possible nine), and to put that in perspective, there were only nine podium finishers in all of 2025. Haiden Deegan leaving the class has certainly widened the possibilities.
