Adam Humphries caught 1-of-2 targets for three yards in Washington’s Week 18 win over the Giants.
Humphries ended up catching 41 balls for Washington’s under-manned receiver corps, his most since 2018 in Tampa. That year was also the last time he got in a season’s worth of games. Humphries fulfilled his purpose of being a replacement-level slot man, but he definitely did not achieve more. Headed back to free agency ahead of his age-29 campaign, Humphries will have to hustle to make someone’s 53-man roster.

  • Wide Receiver #27
Adam Humphries caught 4-of-7 targets for 34 yards in Washington’s Week 15 loss to Philadelphia.
He also drew a pass interference penalty. Humphries has now posted seven games this season with between 30 and 44 yards, and his devotion to the 3-4 catch, 34-38 yard projection is admirable. If he were getting these targets in a better offense, he might be worthy of some fantasy buzz. Alas, with the Football Team travelling to Dallas this week, he’s not a recommended play.

  • Wide Receiver #27
Adam Humphries caught both of his targets for 30 yards in the Football Team’s Week 11 win against the Panthers.
The team’s slot receiver had a critical third down reception in the second half that extended a clock-killing Washington drive. Humphries continues to run a lot of empty routes in a passing offense that runs through Terry McLaurin. He’s not fantasy viable.

  • Wide Receiver #27
Adam Humphries caught his lone target for five yards in Washington’s Week 10 win against the Bucs.
Humphries had a crucial fourth quarter fumble at midfield that threatened to derail the Football Team’s keep-away game plan. Even as the Football Team’s primary slot receiver, Humphries is seeing almost no target volume. He should remain on waiver wires.

  • BUF Wide Receiver #1
Washington declared WR Curtis Samuel (groin), CB Benjamin St-Juste (illness/concussion), CB Corn Elder, and WR Antonio Gandy-Golden inactive for Week 10 against Tampa.
Samuel is probably on his way to season-ending injured reserve if he can’t get right in the next week or two. DeAndre Carter, Adam Humphries, and Dyami Brown will rotate at wide receiver alongside Terry McLaurin against the Bucs.

  • JAX Wide Receiver #2
Dyami Brown (knee) is questionable for Week 10.
That Brown isn’t a sure thing to suit up against the Bucs is something of a surprise following the Football Team’s Week 9 bye. Brown missed Week 8 against the Packers, when Adam Humphries and DeAndre Carter operated as Washington’s starting wideouts alongside Terry McLaurin. Humphries and Carter would be WR4/5 plays if Brown is sidelined against Tampa.

  • Wide Receiver #27
Adam Humphries caught 3-of-4 targets for 36 yards in Washington’s Week 7 loss to the Packers.
Humphries benefitted after Dyami Brown exited in the first half with a leg injury. The former’s fantasy viability for 14-team leagues will come down to the statuses of Cam Sims, Curtis Samuel, and Brown prior to Week 8 against Denver.

  • Wide Receiver #27
Adam Humphries caught 1-of-2 targets for -4 yards in the Football Team’s Week 6 loss to the Chiefs.
Humphries alternated with DeAndre Carter and Dynami Brown in the slot and was barely involved a week after catching three balls for 73 yards against the Saints. He should remain on the waiver wire this week.

  • WAS Wide Receiver #17
Terry McLaurin (hamstring) was downgraded to a DNP Friday and is considered questionable for Week 6.
A Friday downgrade is the worst possible scenario for any player dealing with an injury. However, Washington head coach Ron Rivera said McLaurin was sidelined out of “an abundance of caution” after feeling hamstring tightness. Despite that optimism, fantasy managers should make contingency plans for Week 6. His absence also would be a major blow to Taylor Heinicke’s Week 6 streaming appeal. Dyami Brown, coming off a knee injury that kept him sidelined last week, could be a primary target if McLaurin and Curtis Samuel (groin) are out, and Adam Humphries could vacuum up a bunch of slot targets. Ricky Seals-Jones remains a solid streaming option against a KC defense allowing the most tight end yards and the seventh most tight end receptions this season.

  • BUF Wide Receiver #1
Washington head coach Ron Rivera said Curtis Samuel is “week to week” with a groin injury.
That could be Rivera’s way of saying the offseason free agency acquisition will be out for a while after suffering the injury during Week 5’s loss to New Orleans. Samuel, you may remember, missed nearly four months with a groin injury this offseason, including the entire preseason and the regular season’s first three weeks. It’s looking more and more like a lost season for Samuel. Adam Humphries profiles as the Football Team’s primary slot guy with Samuel sidelined.
