Vikings placed sixth-round DE Ade Aruna on injured reserve with a torn right ACL.
The rookie was carted off during Saturday’s preseason game against Jacksonville. Aruna was unlikely to make an impact this year anyway with Everson Griffen and Danielle Hunter blocking his path at defensive end.

Vikings selected Tulane DE Ade Aruna with the No. 218 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
Aruna (6’5/262) made 34 starts for the Green Wave, compiling 19 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, and three forced fumbles. Aruna managed two sacks as a senior as Tulane’s coaching staff oddly asked him to play 3-4 nose tackle. When used to penetrate upfield, Aruna showed impressive burst and freaky length. Aruna blew up the Combine with a 4.6-flat forty and explosive vertical (38 ½") and broad (10’8") jumps, testing as an 85th-percentile athlete. Long on traits but still learning the game as a Nigerian native who didn’t play football until his senior year in high school, Aruna profiles as a high-ceiling, low-floor project.
