Seahawks signed Arkansas G Alvin Bailey.
Bailey (6-foot-3 1/8, 312) started all 26 games of his college career, but his decision to turn pro after an inconsistent junior season surprised many. He helped himself during the pre-draft phase by running a 4.95 forty and repping 225 pounds 27 times with lengthy 34 3/4-inch arms. Though a bit of a project, Bailey has starting-caliber tools and flashed drive-blocking power as a Razorback. He joins a thin guard group in Seattle.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer believes Seahawks LG James Carpenter’s roster spot may be in jeopardy.
Carpenter, the 25th pick in the 2011 draft, started 12 games last season, including the playoffs. He was drafted to be a mauling run blocker but has struggled there and in pass protection when he’s actually played. Carpenter has one year left on his rookie deal at just over $1.4 million. The Post-Intelligencer thinks second-year UDFA Alvin Bailey may be the future at left guard.

Coach Hue Jackson confirmed Alvin Bailey is the favorite to start at right tackle.
Bailey is penciled in as Mitchell Schwartz’s replacement after getting all the first-team reps at OTAs. Michael Bowie, Austin Pasztor, and rookies Shon Coleman/Spencer Drango are behind Bailey.

Browns RG Alvin Bailey is not expected to start this week.
Bailey was arrested for OVI among other things early Monday morning. Bailey started at right guard with John Greco filling in at center last week. Greco is expected to move back to guard with newly-signed Austin Reiter taking over at center.

Browns RG Alvin Bailey was arrested for DUI early Monday morning in Cleveland.
Bailey admitted to drinking several whiskeys on the flight home from Miami and then continuing his drinking at a local establishment back home in Cleveland. He was followed into a park parking lot where an officer stopped Bailey and found trace amounts of marijuana in the center console. Bailey was also cited for failure to comply, drug abuse, drug paraphernalia, speeding, and unsafe vehicle due to a cracked windshield. It could cost Bailey his job with the Browns.

NFL suspended Browns OL Alvin Bailey two games for violating the substance-abuse policy.
Bailey was arrested for OVI among other things in October. He will be eligible to return Week 17. Bailey has not played in a game since Week 12.

    Browns released OL Alvin Bailey.
DBs Tracy Howard and Trae Elston have been waived. A Seahawk from 2013-15, Bailey was signed by the Browns after Seattle non-tendered him. He appeared in 14 games last season, with the two absences being because of a suspension for violating the league’s personal-conduct policy. Bailey was arrested for drunk driving last September. Bailey is primarily a guard, but can play tackle. He made five starts along the interior last year.

Alvin Bailey is working as the first-team right tackle during Browns OTAs.
Bailey was not tendered by the offensive-line needy Seahawks, but the Browns will give him every opportunity to win a starting job. “He has a lot of the characteristics that we want in a tackle, and he’s done a good job thus far,” coach Hue Jackson said. “He’s a tough guy and wants to do well. So we’re going to give him an opportunity.” After losing Alex Mack and Mitchell Schwartz, Cleveland’s offensive line will likely take a step back this season.

Seahawks OG Alvin Bailey has shed 23 pounds.
Absurdly listed at 320, Bailey was playing at “350-plus” in 2014. He’s now back down in the 320-330 range. Bailey appeared in 14 games last season, making five starts. He struggled as both a run and a pass blocker, but could be Seattle’s starting left guard. He’ll face competition in the form of fourth-rounder Mark Glowinski. The Seahawks’ other “top” guard is J.R. Sweezy, making for an extremely weak group.

Alvin Bailey appears “entrenched” as the Seahawks’ starting left guard.
Bailey struggled with weight issues and inconsistent play in 2014, but he has reportedly shed 23 pounds over the offseason and is looking good in camp. With not much competition on the depth chart, it would be a shock if Bailey does not open the season as the first-team left guard.
