Bucs activated LS Andrew Economos and waived S David Sims.
Sims was an undrafted rookie out of Iowa State. He’ll probably return to the practice squad. Economos, 29, is coming off a torn Achilles’ tendon. He’s been the Bucs’ deep snapper since the start of the 2007 season.

    Bucs waived LS Christian Yount.
The inference is that long-time LS Andrew Economos (Achilles) will ready to come off the PUP list after the Week 8 bye.

    Bucs re-signed LS Andrew Economos.
It continues to be a good offseason for long snappers. Economos has been holding down the fort in Tampa since 2007.

Bucs signed LS Andrew Economos to a five-year, $4 million contract.
Not bad for a long snapper. Economos took over for Dave Moore a few years back.

Buccaneers offered LS Andrew Economos, an exclusive rights free agent, a contract.
Economos started every game at long snapper for the Bucs last year. Exclusive rights free agents have to sit out a year if they don’t sign their tender offers.

Bucs GM Mark Dominik revealed that LS Andrew Economos recently sustained a torn Achilles tendon.
Dominik is not sure yet of the severity or how the injury happened. Even a partial tear would put Economos in doubt for the start of the season. He’s been the Bucs’ longsnapper since the 2007 season.

Bucs placed LS Andrew Economos (Achilles’) on the reserve/PUP list.
Economos tore the Achilles’ about six months ago, so there’s an outside chance that he could be back for Week 7. We suspect a long snapper would have a better shot at a quick return from this kind of injury. The Bucs are forced to roll with undrafted rookie Christian Yount as their Week 1 snapper.
