Holman

Holman, who signed a 10-day contract with the Heat on December 29, has been declared ineligible for Wednesday’s game. The reason why is that Miami has players returning from health and safety protocols, and he was signed via the hardship waiver. It’s likely that Holman won’t play again before his contract expires.

Holman has been playing with the Austin Spurs, who are San Antonio’s G-Leaue affiliate ironically. Holman is currently driving to San Antonio to meet the Heat in an effort to prevent Wednesday’s game against the Spurs from being postponed. Heat beat reporter Ira Winderman says that even with Holman’s addition, the game could be in jeopardy, so we will have to see how this plays out in the coming hours.

Holman was just on a training camp deal and the roster needed some management given that they’re still at 18 guys after waiving Holman and Nate Renfro. The G-League may be calling Holman’s name.

Holman played collegiately at Mississippi State but went undrafted in 2019. He has previously signed non-guaranteed deals with the Lakers and Mavs. Holman is a long shot to make the Spurs opening night roster.

They claimed him off waivers back in August for training camp, but he was always a longshot to land a spot on the regular-season roster.

Holman went undrafted out of Mississippi State and was recently waived by the Lakers, who initially gave him an Exhibit 10 contract. The Mavs should be set with Kristaps Porzingis, Dwight Powell, Maxi Kleber and Boban Marjanovic in the frontcourt, so we’re not expecting to see Holman this season.

They needed to cut someone in order to open up a roster spot for Dwight Howard, so Holman gets the ax. He was on an Exhibit 10 deal and had no shot of making the regular-season roster.
