AEK Athens announced on Sunday that they have signed Ben McLemore to a one-year deal.
After spending last season in China, McLemore is headed to Europe for the first time in his professional career. The 2013 lottery pick worked out for multiple NBA teams earlier this summer in Las Vegas, but no opportunities to get back into the Association would come to pass.
  • NBA Shooting Guard #23
According to Shams Charania and Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Warriors are working out Ben McLemore and other veterans such as Kenneth Faried, Elfrid Payton and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
According to Charania and Slater, it’s common for Golden State to hold these types of workouts prior to training camp, so it’s hard to read too much into the team’s early September workouts. The Warriors have at least one roster spot available and potentially two if Andre Iguodala decides to retire. Of the players named in The Athletic’s report, McLemore would make the most sense thanks to his lights-out shooting from beyond the arc. Over the last four seasons, McLemore connected on 1.9 triples per game at a healthy 37.3% clip.

  • NYK Guard #3
Josh Hart (left knee patellar tendinopathy), Trendon Watford (left knee) and Justise Winslow (left calf) have all been ruled out of Thursday’s game against the Pelicans.
Portland will have just two games left after tomorrow’s, so we’d be shocked to see any of these guys again. Stick with the Blazers you’ve been rolling with for the last couple of weeks, with Drew Eubanks, Keon Johnson and Ben McLemore being some of the more reliable options on the team.

  • FA Small Forward #45
Keon Johnson started and hit 7-of-14 shots and three 3-pointers for 18 points, six rebounds, seven assists, one steal and two blocks in 36 minutes of Tuesday’s ridiculous 98-94 loss to the Thunder.
The starting lineups between these two teams was a who’s who of G-League All-Stars and Johnson went off in a game in which the Blazers lost a 19-point lead and were outscored 31-12 in the fourth quarter. Clearly, the Blazers wanted this loss just a little more than the Thunder. Greg Brown had 17 points and a (sort of) full stat line, Ben McLemore also had 17 points with three 3-pointers, and Drew Eubanks kept it going with 14 points, four rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Silly season at its finest. Pick a Blazer, any Blazer, although Johnson has now scored 18, 19 and 20 points in each of his last three games.

  • Power Forward #12
Justise Winslow (left calf inflammation) won’t play against the Thunder on Tuesday.
Winslow may play again this season, but there was never a chance that it would be against the Thunder. These are the two teams tanking the hardest right now, and this game is important for both of their lottery odds. Not much value comes out of Portland, but Drew Eubanks has been very good over the past two weeks. Ben McLemore is more readily available in Yahoo! leagues and has provided a lot of value through his triples lately.

  • NBA Shooting Guard #23
Ben McLemore scored 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the floor (4-of-11 3-pointers) to go with three assists, one rebound, and one steal in 25 minutes off the bench of Sunday’s loss to the Spurs.
McLemore is one of the most experienced players for the Blazers at the moment, and he has been productive of late. He has now scored in double-figures in 10-straight games and he has made at least two triples in nine of them. If you need some shooting, he could be worth a look in the final week of the season.

  • Power Forward #12
Justise Winslow (left calf inflammation) will not be available for Sunday’s game against the Spurs and will miss his sixth straight contest.
At this point it’s shocking that the Blazers haven’t just shut him down fo good, but maybe he’ll play another game or two. While sidelined, it’s been guys like Ben McLemore, CJ Elleby and even Greg Brown getting more burn, but the only appeal is the triples from McLemore and the possibility of Brown building upon his near double-double from Friday’s loss.

  • NBA Shooting Guard #23
Ben McLemore scored 16 points with one assist, one rebound, two steals and three triples in a loss to the Pelicans on Wednesday.
The Blazers are showcasing to the world what the silly season in the NBA looks like and they have chosen Ben McLemore as their fearless leader. He’s had the greenest of lights too, scoring 18.0 points with 3.7 triples, 2.4 rebounds and 1.0 steals in his previous seven games. His stat profile is pretty bland apart from scoring and 3s, but he’s worth grabbing for the final 1.5 weeks.

  • NBA Shooting Guard #23
Ben McLemore finished Monday’s loss with 28 points on 10-of-22 shooting (8-of-18 threes) and added two rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block.
McLemore led the Blazers in scoring and matched his season-high in points. He also stroked eight triples, which matches a career-high. Benny Mac has averaged 18.0 points and 3.7 triples across his last seven games, and if you’re hurting for offensive stats, he’s available in 88% of Yahoo leagues.

  • Power Forward #13
Greg Brown (eye) has been downgraded to doubtful for Monday’s game vs. the Thunder.
Brown suffered the injury during Saturday’s game, and with him getting downgraded to doubtful, that would imply things didn’t go well for him at shootaround. It’s looking like Portland will only have eight available players for tonight’s game, so Ben McLemore could be worth a dart throw in DFS, as he could see ample run as a starter tonight.
