As college athletic conferences across the United States weigh the consequences of playing football or not, it’s hard to know exactly how many will be good to go by late September.
That hasn’t stopped American sportsbook operators DraftKings and FanDuel from supplying odds for a few Power 5 conferences. They’re now taking bets on which teams will win the SEC, ACC and Big XII.
A familiar program sits atop the betting boards in the SEC – the Alabama Crimson Tide.
| Program | DraftKings | FanDuel |
| Alabama | -143 | +110 |
| Georgia | +200 | +220 |
| LSU | +650 | +750 |
| Florida | +1200 | +700 |
| Texas A&M | +1400 | +1400 |
| Auburn | +1600 | +3000 |
| Tennessee | +10000 | +2500 |
| Kentucky | +10000 | +8500 |
| Mississippi State | +12500 | +10000 |
| Missouri | +12500 | +10000 |
| Ole Miss | +12500 | +15000 |
| South Carolina | +12500 | +5000 |
| Arkansas | +25000 | +25000 |
| Vanderbilt | +25000 | +25000 |
Georgia checks in at number two on the totem pole with Wake Forest transfer and graduate student Jamie Newman set to take over at quarterback. DraftKings slotted reigning national champion LSU third even without Joe Burrow and Joe Brady, while FanDuel placed Florida third.
The largest disagreements are on Auburn (16-to-1 DK, 30-to-1 FD), Tennessee (25-to-1 DK, 100-to-1 FD) and South Carolina (50-to-1 FD, 125-to-1 DK). Always shop around![[ad:athena]]
In the ACC, my five-year-old cousin could’ve told you that Clemson was the team to beat. The only thing in question was the price. Trevor Lawrence and the Tigers are -350 favorites at FanDuel and -455 at DraftKings.
| Program | DraftKings | FanDuel |
| Clemson | -455 | -350 |
| Notre Dame | +600 | +500 |
| North Carolina | +800 | +1600 |
| Miami FL | +1000 | +1600 |
| Virginia Tech | +1800 | +4000 |
| Florida State | +2800 | +2000 |
| Pittsburgh | +3300 | +4000 |
| Louisville | +4000 | +5000 |
| Virginia | +5000 | +25000 |
| NC State | +8000 | +10000 |
| Wake Forest | +8000 | +25000 |
| Boston College | +10000 | +25000 |
| Duke | +10000 | +25000 |
| Syracuse | +10000 | +25000 |
| Georgia Tech | +50000 | +25000 |
Both shops are in agreement that it’s Clemson, Notre Dame, then everyone else. DraftKings feels twice as good about North Carolina as FanDuel does. The biggest discrepancies here are Virginia Tech (18-to-1 DK, 40-to-1 FD) and Virginia (50-to-1 DK, 250-to-1 FD).
Finally, Lincoln Reilly and that explosive Oklahoma offense are actually co-favored with Sam Ehlinger and Texas at FanDuel to win the Big XII. DraftKings respects the Sooners just a smidge more.
| Program | DraftKings | FanDuel |
| Oklahoma | -125 | +125 |
| Texas | +175 | +125 |
| Oklahoma State | +650 | +900 |
| Iowa State | +1000 | +750 |
| TCU | +1600 | +3000 |
| West Virginia | +2500 | +5000 |
| Baylor | +3300 | +3500 |
| Kansas State | +4000 | +7000 |
| Texas Tech | +6600 | +10000 |
| Kansas | +10000 | +25000 |
We’ve got the odds, now let’s play ball.
