This game opened with Coastal as 27-point home favorites. That number got as high as 27.5 and as low as 25 before settling at 26.5. I’m not opposed to laying a big number on a home team, but there is a better way to attack this game.
Over the past four seasons in games where the home team is a 25-point or higher favorite the Over cashes 53% of the time. In that same four-year timeframe, when a Sun Belt team is a home favorite of 25 points or more, the Over has cashed 61% of the time. In the past four seasons, Coastal Carolina has been a home favorite of 25 points or more three times, and the Over has cashed in all three games.
