Raleigh started at catcher and played five innings behind the dish. That was all he needed to crush a pair of homers, including a grand slam, during his second rehab contest. The 29-year-old backstop figures to need a couple additional tune-up contests since he’s been out since mid-May recovering from an oblique strain. It wouldn’t be surprising if he were ready to rejoin Seattle’s lineup later this week.
  • ATL Catcher #30
Baldwin is slated to take live batting practice later this week before heading out to kick off a rehab assignment. He’ll need at least a couple games to get back up to speed, especially from a catching standpoint. The 25-year-old burgeoning superstar has been on the shelf recovering from a mild right oblique strain since May 19. There’s a strong possibility he’s back in Atlanta’s lineup somewhere around mid-June.
  • MIL Center Fielder
The long-term agreement, which was previously reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan to be worth $31 million with the potential to max out at $79 million, is now official. ara becomes the third member of Milwaukee’s young core to sign an extension prior to his big-league debut, joining franchise cornerstone Jackson Chourio and shortstop prospect Cooper Pratt. The 21-year-old top prospect already projects as an elite defensive centerfielder and is putting together a breakthrough offensive season at Triple-A Nashville, slashing .338/.447/.500 with seven homers and 18 steals in 56 games in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. There’s a strong possibility he reaches the majors at some point later this summer, and he offers enough power/speed upside to warrant monitoring in deeper formats once he arrives.
  • PIT Center Fielder #15
Jake Mangum takes over in center field. Presumably, the decision to hold Cruz out of the lineup is directly related to a hand laceration that he suffered on a slide into home plate last weekend against Atlanta. There should be an additional update on his status following Tuesday’s showdown, but fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #29
All indications are that Skubal will be cleared afterwards to make his lightning-quick return to Detroit’s rotation with a start against the Guardians later this week. He’ll make it back from an innovative NanoScope procedure to remove loose bodies from his elbow roughly five weeks after the procedure. The 29-year-old fantasy ace punched out six batters over five shutout innings during a 54-pitch minor league rehab start for High-A West Michigan on Sunday.
  • KC Shortstop #7
Salvador Perez (thumb) and Jac Caglianone (shoulder) are also back in Kansas City’s lineup after missing time over the weekend. The Royals made the decision to pull Witt from Sunday’s series finale after his right knee soreness got worse during the contest, but he appears to have checked out fine after undergoing further evaluation. The 25-year-old franchise cornerstone has the green light to return, which is a massive relief for the Royals and fantasy managers as well.
  • TOR 1st Baseman #27
Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters they’re trying to shake things up for Guerrero and will see how it goes. It’ll be rookie Charles McAdoo at first base and hitting ninth with a scuffling George Springer getting a mental break. The 27-year-old fantasy superstar has just three homers through 65 games this season. He’s obviously capable of erupting for an extended power surge at any moment based on his track record. It’ll be a pair of certifiable beefy baseball boys in Guerrero and Phillies counterpart Kyle Schwarber atop their respective lineups in the Rogers Centre on Tuesday night.
  • COL Center Fielder #16
Carrigg’s defensive versatility, stolen base upside and opportunity to take advantage of Coors Field’s batting average inflating tendencies make him one of the more intriguing prospects in the fantasy landscape. The 24-year-old receives his first opportunity at the highest level with Tyler Freeman (concussion) hitting the injured list. He’s eclipsed 40 steals in each of the previous two minor league seasons and was slashing .338/.414/.529 with six homers and 30 steals in 57 games at the Triple-A level this season. He’s a savvy pickup in deeper mixed leagues based on his stolen base upside and path to everyday at-bats with the Rockies.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #84
Cease returns from a two-week stint on the injured list recovering from a left hamstring strain to take the ball against the Phillies at the Rogers Centre on Tuesday night. The 30-year-old upper-echelon fantasy starter holds a strong 3.05 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 92/26 K/BB ratio across 62 innings over 11 starts in his Blue Jays debut this season. His return will provide a much-needed lift for Toronto’s rotation mix and fantasy managers alike.
  • MIN Center Fielder #25
Buxton missed the previous two games while dealing with a shoulder contusion. The 32-year-old will likely see some maintenance days over the summer, but it’s great to see the right-handed hitting slugger back at it for the series opener against Detroit.
