Not Sam Burns, not Sungjae Im, not Matthew Wolff, but Adam Schenk will head into the final round of the Shriners Children’s Open with the solo lead. Courtesy of a birdie on his closing hole, the Indiana native will look to come through for his first PGA Tour victory in the bright lights of Las Vegas.
Off to a precarious start to his third round, Schenk found himself 1-over through his first six holes. Trailing his playing partner, Burns, the 29-year-old found a different gear in the final two-thirds of his round. Carding six birdies the rest of the way – three of which came in the final four holes – Schenk turned in a round of 5-under 66 to stand at 18-under for the tournament.

Hoping to capture his first victory, Schenk will need to hold off a cluster of pursuers. One of which is Wolff, who has broken 70 in each of rounds at TPC Summerlin and trails by a single stroke. Beginning the day at 11-under, Wolff made par on his first eight holes.
Finally getting to the par-5’s, Wolff took advantage of his length, playing those three holes in 4-under. With birdies on the par-4 11th and drivable par-4 15th, Wolff came in with his second bogey-free round of the week.
Despite the small deficit, it is Wolff who is the favorite to win according to PointsBet Sportsbook. Perhaps his course history or the way he finished, the 22-year-old is in an ideal position to chase down Schenk and capture his second career victory.

Round 4 Plays (Odds Via PointsBet):
Mark Hubbard (+129) over Taylor Moore
Let’s see if we can get this one right as yesterday things did not fall our way. If you are looking for some exposure to an outright, I would side with Burns at the current numbers, but instead we will look to another matchup.
As such, Hubbard will be our man on Sunday. Currently in a tie for 31st at 9-under, the 32-year-old has improved everyday. With rounds of 69-68-67, could a 66 be in his final round future? I am willing to say yes, as “Homeless Hubbs” has put together a strong performance from tee-to-green to this point.
13th in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green, Hubbard’s ball-striking has turned the corner ever since a pedestrian first-round. Combined with being rock steady from around-the-green and his Round 4 prospects will inevitably come down to his putter. However, that too has continued to show progress, despite being 66th in the field at the moment in SG: Putting.
Posting –0.98 in Round 1, -0.90 in Round 2, and –0.47 in Round 3, if Hubbard is able to draw even on Sunday, we should be in business. As opposed to Moore who has been reliant on his putter this week, but possibly running out of steam on the greens.
Ranking fifth in SG: Putting, the 28-year-old has gotten worse on the greens as the tournament has unfolded. While he did find some semblance of ball-striking on Saturday, he did something similar last week in Mississippi before returning to his previous level of play on Sunday.
