The UNLV product rocketed out of the gate this week with rounds of 62-66 but he couldn’t find that same magic over the weekend (72-73). He lost 2.25 strokes to the field over the final two rounds. “I learned a lot, and you don’t have to play great golf to win on a hard golf course coming down the stretch. You’ve just got to hit it in the middle of the green and not do anything stupid.” This wasn’t the ideal finish for the Las Vegas resident but Hall entered the week at 99th in the FedExCup race and is projected to jump 27 spots with this finish. It will also go in the books as his fourth top 10 on the big stage and new career-best result (T7/2023 Puerto Rico Open).

The UNLV product posted a T10 recently at the Mexico Open but regressed with a missed cut and T83 in his last two starts. He got back on track today with eight birdies in his debut round at Colonial Country Club. He kept a clean card despite missing seven greens today. “The 7 out of 7 scrambles doesn’t really surprise me because that’s the best part of my game, but the way I hit the ball the first two-thirds of that round was pretty special. So that was nice.” Hall walked off the course ranked first in strokes gained putting (+4.4). Assuming this lead holds then it’ll be his first time leading or co-leading after any round on the PGA TOUR. He has three top 10s to his name with a T7 at the 2023 Puerto Rico Open being his best finish to date.

The UNLV product piped 11-of-13 fairways at Monterey Peninsula Country Club’s Shore Course and from there he landed 17 greens in regulation (T1). “Kept it in play off the tee. Hit a lot of fairways. Hit a lot of greens. I didn’t get off to the hottest of starts by parring two of the par-5s. But, yeah, the putter was hot today.” The highlight of his round was a 20-foot eagle splash at the par-5 16th but he also sprinkled seven birdies to offest a pair of blemishes. This will be the fourth time in his PGA TOUR career that he’s posted inside of the top 10 after round one with the other three all coming at a home game at the 2021-22 Shriners.

The UNLV product is comfortable in his surroundings this week as one of the 11 Vegas residents teeing it up at the Shriners. He teed it up here last year and popped with a T8 finish which remains his lone top 45 on the PGA TOUR, in seven career starts. Hall is a PGA TOUR card-carrying member this time around after finishing 10th on the Korn Ferry season-long list last year. The 25-year has won in each of the last two KFT campaigns and his top 10 at TPC Summerlin last year suggests this could be a spot for him to get back into contention.

Also advancing Monday in Roswell, where 68 players competed for four spots in next week’s championship at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass., were Erik Barnes (70-68) from Marion, Ind., and Korn Ferry Tour rookie Matt McCarty (71-67) from Scottsdale, Ariz., who both finished at 6-under 138. Patton Kizzire (68-70) finished at first alternate after losing in a 3-for-2 playoff, with Jake Staiano (69-70) as second alternate. The 30-year-old Seiffert, who playing the PGA Tour this season on conditional status, has posted four top-25 finishes in 11 starts this season. The 24-year-old Hall continues to ride momentum following his second career KFT win the two weeks ago. Barnes earned his spot in his first U.S. Open just one day after crossing the KFT fail-safe threshold of 875 points to secure his first PGA Tour card for next season.

The 24-year-old Englishman, who now has two KFT victories on his resume, ended with a 4-under 67 on Sunday at The Country Club at Wakefield Plantation in Raleigh, N.C., to finish at 14-under 270, three shots behind winner Davis Thompson. Hall, who made his 10th cut in 14 KFT starts this season, led the field with 26 birdies, but only 12 of the 73 players who made the cut made more bogeys or worse than Hall, who recorded 12 bogeys on the week. Prior to the last two events (win, fifth), Hall stood 94th on the KFT Regular Season Points List, and he rose from No. 17 to No. 11 following Sunday’s final round. Hall’s his highest finish outside of two career wins remains a T-2 from the 2020 Memorial Health Championship presented by LRS.

The 24-year-old Hall started the final day tied for the lead at 16-under par with Hardy and KFT rookie Davis Thompson. Thompson carded a 2-under 69 Sunday, while Hall and Hardy posted matching bogey-free rounds of 6-under 65 to finish regulation tied at 22-under 262, three strokes ahead of the field. Hall made birdie on five of his last seven holes in regulation and carries the momentum into the playoff. “To birdie all three of the playoff holes – I think I shot 30 on the back, too – some of the best golf I’ve ever played,” he said. “Hit some great putts. I think my best is good enough to beat anybody.” The UNLV alum earned 500 points for the win and vaulted from 94th to 17th on the KFT Regular Season Points List. On the season, Hall has made nine cuts in 13 KFT starts, and he’s 1-for-2 in PGA Tour action, missing the cut in Bermuda but posting a T-8 at the Shriners Children’s Open in October. Hall is listed in the field for this week’s REX Hospital Open in Raleigh, N.C.

Gaining some recognition from his start at the Shriners Children’s Open, Harry Hall impressed on his home course, TPC Summerlin. Finishing inside the top-10 in Las Vegas, the big Englishman missed the cut in his next start at the Bermuda Championship. Shrugging it off, he appears to have taken to the tropics in a more suitable manner this week in The Bahamas. Carding rounds of 68-69, the 24-year-old co-leads the field in birdies made with 11. Something to keep an eye on as the latter portion of the tournament begins is Hall’s play on the back-nine. Playing the front-nine in even-par, Hall has done all of his damage on the homeward half, which could bode well for him down the stretch of the final round.

The 24-year-old Hall, who played college golf at UNLV, was given a sponsor exemption into the Shriners Children’s Open and shot four rounds in the 60s to finish T-8 at TPC Summerlin, which earned him a spot in the field in Bermuda. A few weeks prior to the Vegas event, he shot a round of 60 there. Last season, Hall played on the Korn Ferry Tour and won the Wichita Open for his first Tour win. He opened with rounds of 64-63 and finished at 20-under 260, one stroke better than Curtis Thompson. Hall finished the KFT regular season 40th on the points list to advance to the Finals, but he did not gain his PGA Tour card and has his KFT card for the 2022 season. He also was given a sponsor exemption into The American Express, his lone PGA Tour start last year, where he finished T-47.

Making his tourney debut and third career TOUR start, the UNLV alum and TPC Summerlin member cashes a second paycheck on the main stage, bettering a T47 at last season’s American Express, also on a sponsor invite. The top 10 will get him an exemption into the Bermuda Championship in three weeks, where he’ll also make his tourney debut. For the week, the World No. 292 carded laps of 66-65-68-68, totaled one eagle and 22 birdies versus seven bogeys, and currently ranks 13th in SG: Off-the-Tee (2.411), 57th in SG: Approach (-1.437), 12th in SG: Around (2.687) and 11th in SG: Putting (5.328). Today’s walk featured five birdies, three from between 12 and 16 feet, against two bogeys on eight (of 14) fairways and 12 greens in regulation, losing 0.056 strokes tee-to-green, but gaining 0.878 on-the-green.
