Betting Game 3 of the ECF between the Celtics and Heat

Vaughn Dalzell breaks down his best in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat.

Celtics (-3) at Heat: O/U 214.0

Game 2 was all but in the bag for Boston before Grant Williams started chirping with Jimmy Butler and Miami pulled away with a 111-105 win in Boston. Miami outscored Boston, 36-22 in the fourth quarter.

The Celtics are down 0-2 and the only other time in this postseason that the Celtics lost two-straight was Games 4 and 5 versus the 76ers.

Boston went on to win Game 6 in Philadelphia 95-86 and will need to rekindle that performance after being up by as much as 12 points in Game 2 at home against Miami and losing.

One thing that has gone well for the Celtics is they have attempted more free-throws than Miami in both games but has been run off the three-point line, while struggling to limit the Heat’s success from deep.

Joe Mazzulla and company will make adjustments in Game 3 to slow the game down, but double-teaming Jimmy Butler in the post is crucial for Game 3. If Boston doesn’t, this series will likely be over in four games.

I played the Celtics ML at -150 odds. If they don’t win Game 3, then the series is obviously over so Boston is the only way I can bet with all the desperation on their side.

Jayson Tatum has scored 30 and 34 points in the first two games of this series and averaged 10.0 rebounds. I lean the Over on Tatum’s 45.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-110) and his double double prop (-130).

Pick: Celtics ML (Risk 1.5u)
