Hang on, hang on. Just hear me out for a second. Firing a future bet like this is more strategy than anything else. It’s a bet on what I perceive to be a great team at an extremely advantageous price.
Assuming quarterback Patrick Mahomes stays healthy, I would be stunned if the Kansas City Chiefs don’t make it to at least the AFC Championship game. Especially with Tom Brady out of the conference picture. I’m not buying the Buffalo Bills or Indianapolis Colts as serious sleepers either. It’s a pretty clear 1-2 punch in the AFC – Kansas City and the Baltimore Ravens.

The moneyline in that game would be Chiefs -300. You could either make a small bet on Baltimore moneyline +265... or you could take Baltimore plus the points and set up a sweet middle.
A three-point Kansas City win would keep your future bet alive and cash the Ravens bet.

Worst case scenario: Mahomes gets hurt, the Chiefs miss the playoffs and you lose.
Even if it’s somewhere in the middle, your ticket will still have value. If Kansas City makes the postseason, it will be impossible to find better odds on them to win it all than the +575 in your pocket.
Some people will read this column and laugh because the dork with the glasses is telling you to bet on the odds-on favorite to win the Super Bowl. Others will understand the opportunity and act accordingly.
