Panthers selected Wisconsin P Brad Nortman with the No. 207 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
Strong legged, consistent and adept at pinning opposing teams inside their own 20, Nortman was one of the NCAA’s top punters in 2011. Barring a rough preseason, he will be the Panthers’ punter this season.
  • Panthers signed No. 207 overall pick P Brad Nortman to a four-year contract.
Lacking one on the roster following Jason Baker’s release, the Panthers selected a punter for the first time in franchise history. Norton impressed the team’s brass with his consistency and hang time at Wisconsin.
  • Jaguars agreed to terms with P Brad Nortman, formerly of the Panthers, on a four-year contract.
The Jags are letting Bryan Anger walk four years after taking him with the No. 70 overall pick of the 2012 draft. Russell Wilson, of course, went five picks later. Nortman was a sixth-rounder the same season. Both players were in the middle of the pack in net punting average in 2015. It’s not a consequential move.
  • Jaguars released P Brad Nortman.
Nortman has been the punter in Jacksonville for two seasons, but they were always expected to move on after drafting Logan Cooke in the seventh round. Nortman should be able to find work before camp.
