Jaguars re-signed exclusive right free agents TE Zach Potter and RB Brock Bolen.
A special teamer and blocker, Potter has appeared in 28 games the past two seasons, making eight catches for 74 yards. A fellow special teamer, Bolen carried the ball twice for 14 yards in 2011, adding two catches for six yards. Neither will be in for an increased role on offense in 2012.

Browns signed FB Brock Bolen and waived OL Dominic Alford and WR Kennan Davis.
Bolen is an undersized fullback at 6-foot, 233 who’ll try to make the Browns on special teams. Alford and Davis were practice-squad types at best.

Jaguars FB Greg Jones (high ankle sprain) will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
Jones’ injury is not serious, but it’s unlikely he could recover in time to help the Jaguars again this season. Montell Owens takes over as Maurice Jones-Drew’s lead blocker and is a downgrade. Rookie Brock Bolen was also promoted off the practice squad and is expected to get some snaps.
  • FA Running Back #38
Jaguars signed FB Brock Bolen off their practice squad.
He’s an undrafted rookie from Louisville. A poor man’s version of Brian Leonard, Bolen isn’t much of a ball-carrying option or lead blocker at 6'0/233.

    Browns released FB Brock Bolen.
28-year-old Bolen was trying to make the Browns as a special teamer.

Due $3.1 million this season, Jaguars FB Greg Jones may have to take a paycut to stay on the roster.
Jones is no longer a factor as a runner, but he did grade out as the best lead blocker in the league last season, according to Pro Football Focus. As Charlie Bernstein of Fox Sports Florida points out, “the fullback position is going the way of the newspaper and Jacksonville is a cash poor team.” The Jags may turn to Brock Bolen if Jones isn’t amenable to a paycut.
