Bruno Caboclo signed with the G-League’s Mexico City Capitanes on Tuesday.
Caboclo was drafted in the first round in 2014, but he’s never really panned out. Even if he does work his way back up to the NBA, he won’t ever be fantasy relevant.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Celtics have waived forward Bruno Caboclo.
Caboclo, the 2014 first-round draft choice, has had a tough time sticking in the NBA, and it’s unlikely we ever treat him as a fantasy relevant player.

  • NBA Power Forward #5
Bruno Caboclo has reportedly signed a deal in France.
The 25-year-old did show some promise in his last two stints with the Grizzlies and Rockets, but has been unable to find a home in the NBA. We wouldn’t rule out a return to the NBA down the road, perhaps in “two years.”

  • NBA Power Forward #5
The Rockets have waived Bruno Caboclo.
Houston needed to free up a roster spot in order to complete the James Harden deal, as the team received Victor Oladipo and Taurean Prince. Caboclo proved to be the odd man out.

The Rockets announced on Thursday that they have re-signed Bruno Caboclo.
Caboclo appeared in a total of 30 games for the Grizzlies (22) and Rockets (eight) last season, averaging 3.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.6 blocks in 8.1 minutes per game. One day after it was reported that Houston was interested in bringing Caboclo back, the team made his signing official. With James Harden and Russell Westbrook still in the fold Caboclo doesn’t offer much in the way of fantasy value, but that could change if the team were to begin a rebuild in earnest.

  • NBA Power Forward #5
The Rockets are interested in re-signing Bruno Caboclo.
With Mike D’Antoni and Daryl Morey no longer around, Houston is open to keeping players taller than 6-7. Jokes aside, Caboclo has really filled out his frame in recent years and has some intrigue as a rim protector and improving 3-point shooter. He won’t be looking at many minutes early on, but if the Rockets find new homes for James Harden and Russell Westbrook to kickstart their rebuild there will be an opportunity for Caboclo.

  • NBA Power Forward #5
Bruno Caboclo (right ankle) has been ruled out of Sunday’s game vs. the Kings.
There are no fantasy implications because Caboclo isn’t part of the Rockets’ rotation.

  • NBA Power Forward #5
Bruno Caboclo (right ankle) will not suit up for Thursday’s game against the Lakers.
He’s a non-factor in the rotation and irrelevant in fantasy hoops.

  • NBA Power Forward #5
Bruno Caboclo (right ankle) will not play on Tuesday vs. the Blazers.
Bruno is not in the rotation and likely won’t see the floor unless the Rockets decide to rest some veterans later in the seeding games.

  • NBA Power Forward #5
Bruno Caboclo has a right ankle sprain and will not play Sunday vs. the Bucks.
This comes from the official injury report and we don’t have any additional details. Caboclo is not projected to be in the rotation for the small-ball Rockets but could get a look if they rest their studs later into the seeding games.
