Charlie Tilson has agreed to a deal with the Chicago Dogs of the American Association.
Tilson signed a minor league contract with the Phillies last June -- following brief stints in the Mexican League and Atlantic League -- and went on to slash .296/.361/.404 with one home run and 13 stolen bases in 59 games at Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The 29-year-old former second-round pick of the Cardinals last appeared in a major league game in 2019 with the White Sox.

Phillies signed OF Charlie Tilson to a minor-league contract.
Tilson was released by the Pirates earlier this month and managed to latch on with the cross-state Phillies this week. The 28-year-old righty will serve as organizational outfield depth. He hasn’t appeared in the major leagues since 2019 with the White Sox.

    Pirates released OF Charlie Tilson.
Tilson was signed as a non-roster invite by the Pirates in January, and is part of several cuts handed out by the Pirates. He’s hit .246/.310/.290 in three partial seasons in the majors, and he’ll likely hook on with someone as organizational depth before the 2020 season ends, assuming it begins.

Pirates signed OF Charlie Tilson to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Tilson, 27, has hit only .246/.310/.290 over parts of three seasons in the majors. He’ll likely begin 2020 at Triple-A Indianapolis.

Charlie Tilson has elected free agency.
Tilson was outrighted off the White Sox’ 40-man roster for a second time and has decided to seek a job elsewhere. He’s batted only .246/.310/.290 over parts of three seasons in the majors.

White Sox optioned OF Charlie Tilson to Triple-A Charlotte.
A corresponding roster move will come Friday. Tilson hasn’t moved the needle much for Chicago, hitting an underwhelming .229 with one homer, 12 RBI and four steals over 144 at-bats this season. He should be back at some point.

Charlie Tilson exited Wednesday’s game versus the Red Sox due to the flu.
He should be fine in a day or two. Tilson should see extra playing time for a bit with Leury Garcia moving in to shortstop to cover for Tim Anderson (ankle).
  • FA 2nd Baseman #24
Leury Garcia will move from center field to shortstop to cover for the injured Tim Anderson (ankle).
Garcia has been an outfielder almost exclusively the last few seasons but has plenty of experience on the infield. Ryan Cordell and Charlie Tilson will play center field with Garcia moving to shortstop.
  • FA Shortstop #77
Tim Anderson has been diagnosed with a high right ankle sprain.
Anderson has not been placed on the injured list yet, but that’s undoubtedly coming. He’s currently wearing a walking boot and will undergo an MRI to garner further details on the malady. Obviously, it’s a big blow to fantasy owners, especially since Anderson relies so much on his speed. It’s unclear at this point how long he’ll be sidelined. Leury Garcia will move from center field to shortstop to cover for Anderson and Ryan Cordell and Charlie Tilson will take over in center.

Charlie Tilson went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and two runs scored in a win over the Royals on Sunday.
Tilson followed Eloy Jimenez’s monstrous solo homer in the second inning with a run-scoring double to increase the Sox lead to two. In the seventh and ninth innings it was Tilson’s turn to do the scoring, as he helped push the lead even higher. Finally healthy, the Sox are working in the speedy 26-year-old in their outfield rotation, and he’s responded by hitting .274/.336/.349 with a homer and three steals. He’s a better real-life player than a fantasy commodity, sadly.
