Chris Clemons (health and safety protocols) has been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Lakers.
Clemons signed a 10-day contract on December 28, but he has yet to appear in a game for the Hawks due to the protocols. It’s possible that his deal will expire before he ever gets the opportunity to suit up.

Chris Clemons and Cam Oliver have signed 10-day contracts with the Atlanta Hawks, per Shams Charania.
It’s hard to say exactly how this will impact fantasy teams, but one thing’s for sure: Trae Young and Cam Reddish are going to continue to shoot the ball a lot for the Hawks, and Clint Capela is going to grab a lot of rebounds.

An MRI on Wednesday morning confirmed a torn right Achilles for Houston guard Chris Clemons.
He will undergo season-ending surgery and make a full recovery, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Houston doesn’t have another PG on the roster other than John Wall, and while Sterling Brown can handle the ball a bit, we’d expect the Rockets to add another playmaker.

Chris Clemons has a torn right Achilles tendon according to the initial diagnosis.
Just awful. Clemons will have an MRI on Wednesday morning to confirm and that will effectively end his season. Clemson was expected to get minutes as a backup PG this year and had a strong camp, but we look forward to seeing him back on the floor next season.

Chris Clemons suffered a lower leg injury and needed a wheelchair to leave the floor.
This is a tough blow for Clemons and the Rockets and we wish him a full and speedy recovery. Several beat reporters are speculating that he suffered an Achilles injury but we should get a formal update soon.

Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said that the team’s regulars will only play about one half of Friday’s game against Philadelphia.
D’Antoni said during his pregame press conference that Houston’s first-round series not starting until Tuesday affords him the opportunity to use his key players in the seeding game finale. James Harden and co. may play a little longer than a half, but don’t expect too much in the way of playing time. This could be a big night for Chris Clemons and others in a similar position in the Rockets rotation.

  • FA Point Guard #39
Chris Clemons has been sent back to the G League.
This could indicate that the Rockets are more confident they’ll have one of Eric Gordon (knee) or Ben McLemore (illness) back in action tonight, although both remain “questionable” on the injury report. Clemons belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
  • FA Point Guard #39
The Rockets have recalled Chris Clemens from the G League.
With Eric Gordon (knee) and Russell Westbrook (rest) sidelined for Saturday’s game against the Hornets, Clemons could see some PT off the bench.

Chris Clemons came off the bench on Sunday and had 16 points, two rebounds, a career-high 10 assists, a steal and four 3-pointers in 34 minutes of a 127-112 loss to the Pelicans.
This was Clemons’ fifth game of the season to score in double figures and it happened because James Harden (toe), Russell Westbrook (rest) and Clint Capela (heel) were all out. With Harden and Westbrook due back soon and the Rockets playing just twice in the upcoming week, Clemons isn’t worth grabbing, even in deeper leagues.
  • LAC Guard #1
James Harden (right toe sprain) is questionable to play and will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the Pelicans.
Harden most likely suffered the injury in Saturday’s win over the Nets where he scored 44 points in 39 minutes. He’s one of the most durable players in the league and has yet to miss a game so far this season. With Russell Westbrook resting against New Orleans, Harden will most likely suit up and have a big night. If by chance he does sit, Chris Clemons, Austin Rivers, Ben McLemore and every other Rocket would be in for a massive boost in opportunity on Sunday.
