The Pistons waived Chris Smith on Sunday to create roster space to be able to sign Carsen Edwards.
Smith was already ruled out for the remainder of the season after having knee surgery on March 23rd. Hopefully Smith will get another opportunity when he’s fully rehabbed from his knee surgery, but this won’t have any impact in fantasy hoops.

According to Pistons coach Dwane Casey, Chris Smith (left knee sprain) is scheduled to have surgery and will not play this season.
Smith will have to wait until next season to make his NBA debut, assuming all goes to plan. This won’t have any fantasy impact, but we wish Smith a successful surgery and a speedy recovery and hope he’s ready to roll come October.

Chris Smith (left knee sprain) has been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Celtics.
A rookie out of UCLA, Smith has yet to appear in an NBA game due to the ACL tear that ended his final college season prematurely. Consider him to be out indefinitely until the Pistons announce otherwise.

Isaiah Livers and Chris Smith (G League assignment) will not be available for Sunday’s game against the Nets.
This is good news, as both Livers (right foot) and Smith (left knee) were originally sidelined for injury/surgery reasons. However, neither has any value in fantasy basketball, regardless of league format.

Isaiah Livers (right foot surgery) and Chris Smith (left knee surgery) have both been ruled out for Wednesday’s game against the Bulls.
No surprise here, as both Livers and Smith are expected to miss (at minimum) a significant portion of the regular season. Neither would be on fantasy radars if healthy.

Chris Smith (left knee surgery) will not be available for Wednesday’s game against Spurs.
Smith is still rehabbing from an ACL tear that ended his final season at UCLA after just eight games. Once cleared, he is most likely going to spend the majority of his time with the Pistons’ G League affiliate.

The Pistons are signing UCLA forward Chris Smith to a two-way contract.
Smith played eight games for the Bruins before tearing his ACL, a setback that bumped him from a potential first-round pick to going undrafted. He’s still rehabbing his injury and the Pistons will be in no rush to play him in the G League, which is where he’ll spend most (if not all) of the 2021-22 season.
