    Patriots signed TE CJ Dippre.
Dippre (6’5/256) is an athletic pass-catcher with strong blocking and special teams experience. He began his career at Maryland, tallying 30 receptions for 314 yards and three touchdowns as a sophomore, all college career-highs. Transferring to Alabama for his final two seasons, Dippre was an effective blocker for Jalen Milroe and the Crimson Tide backfield. He went to the Senior Bowl and ran a 4.69s 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, No. 3 among tight ends. Dippre can contribute as both a receiver and blocker, though he won’t lead a tight end room at the next level. His experience in kick and punt return coverage could earn him a chance on a roster.
  • NE Tight End #82
Maryland received a verbal commitment from three-star 2021 ATH CJ Dippre.
Dippre (6'5/245) opted in with the Terps over fellow finalists Syracuse, Boston College, Rutgers, Virginia, Pitt and Kentucky. The Wildcats were actually pursuing the Jermyn, Pennsylvania, native as a potential defensive end, but he’ll be working his way in as a tight end with Maryland. Kentucky was the lone team looking at him for the defensive side. On the 247Sports composite board, Dippre hits the proceedings as the No. 19 prospect in the state of Pennsylvania for the 2021 cycle.
