While Loyola Marymount didn’t have the season it had hoped for in 2013-14, finishing with a record of 13-19, the presence of two of the best freshmen in the West Coast Conference gave new head coach Mike Dunlap some solid pieces to work with moving forward.
One of those two freshmen was forward Gabe Levin (the other being guard Evan Payne), who averaged 11.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest in his debut season. Unfortunately for Loyola Marymount, Levin has decided to transfer according to multiple outlets.
A WCC All-Freshman Team selection, the Oak Park, Ill. native started all 29 games in which he played in 2013-14. Levin scored a career-high 20 points in an early-season win over South Dakota State, and he posted six double-doubles. Levin grabbed 14 rebounds in three different games, with two of those efforts coming in back-to-back outings (vs. UC Riverside; at Pittsburgh).
