For the first time in the 26-year history of the Patriot League tournament, the No. 1 seed did not reach the semifinals, and No. 9 seed Holy Cross is to blame.
The Crusaders won 77-72 in double-overtime, and while the game was sealed with 25 seconds left in the second OT when Holy Cross buried a three to put them up 75-69, the biggest shot of the night came from the aptly-named Robert Champion, who hit this ridiculous three to force the second OT:
