Baylor head coach Matt Rhule believes redshirt sophomore CB Blake Lynch is an “NFL talent.”
Lynch may be the most versatile player in all of college football and has started for the Bears at five different positions throughout his career. He’s now a “long, fast, physical nickel back” and a strong defender in the run game. Rhule expects Lynch to run a 40-yard dash in the 4.5s and “loves his unique combination of skill set and instincts.” If Lynch is able to master his craft at cornerback he could be on the draft radar for 2020.

Baylor redshirt freshman WR Blake Lynch will not play in Baylor’s bowl game due to a broken finger.
Lynch broke his finger in Friday’s loss to Texas Tech. Per interim HC Jim Grobe, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound wideout has already undergone surgery to repair the injury. Lynch -- ESPN 300’s No. 185 recruit for the 2015 cycle -- finishes up his redshirt freshman campaign having caught 34 passes for 404 yards and three touchdowns.

Baylor WR coach Bob Bicknell said that "[t]here’s some stuff [redshirt sophomore WR Blake Lynch] does route-wise that’s outstanding.”
“He’s really shown the greatest amount of improvement in the last week or week and a half,” Bicknell said. Lynch (6'3/210) caught 34 passes for 404 yards and three touchdowns a year ago. He could potentially see some work at running back as the Bears look to find depth behind Jamycal Hasty in the wake of Terence Williams (shoulder) being ruled out until at least conference play.

Baylor HC Matt Rhule mentioned redshirt sophomore WR Blake Lynch as a candidate to see snaps at running back until Terence Williams (shoulder) returns.
Williams has been ruled out until at least conference play, leaving JaMycal Hasty as the team’s No. 1 back. The Bears are desperate to identify a viable backup running back or two behind him because frosh Abram Smith was knocked out for the year in the spring with a torn ACL. Lynch, a frontrunner to win a starting receiving gig, posted a 34-404-3 line last year.

Baylor HC Matt Rhule said that redshirt sophomore CB Blake Lynch’s transition from wide receiver has “saved” the team.
Lynch (6'3/210) moved from wideout to corner prior to the season. The Bears have dealt with a number of injuries in the secondary, making his smooth transition all the more important. The redshirt sophomore has recorded 14 tackles with four passes defended this season.

Baylor redshirt sophomore WR/CB Blake Lynch caught four passes for 110 yards and a touchdown in Friday’s 45-22 loss to TCU.
Lynch was seeing the field at cornerback earlier this season to help Baylor paper over some losses in the secondary, but the 6-foot-3, 210-pounder has been working once more at receiver over the last month. Just under half of his yardage on Friday came on a slick catch-and-run touchdown of 54 yards with just over a minute gone over the first quarter clock. Assuming he moves back to wideout full time for 2018, Lynch has the athletic tools for big numbers.
