Chargers signed QB DJ Uiagalelei, LS Peter Bowden, WR Dalevon Campbell, DL TeRah Edwards, WR Luke Grimm, WR JaQuae Jackson, RB Amar Johnson, LB Emany Johnson, C Josh Kaltenberger, TE Tanner McLachlan, OLB Garmon Randolph, OG Branson Taylor, CB Isas Waxter and TE Thomas Yassmin to reserve/futures contracts.
Uiagalelei was elevated to back up Trey Lance in Week 18, but ultimately did not play at all in Los Angeles’ exhibition to tank into the No. 7 seed. He had a 67.0 PFF grade in 69 offensive preseason snaps this past offseason and could eventually become Los Angeles’ backup quarterback.
  • CAR Cornerback #27
Panthers claimed CB Damarri Mathis off waivers from the Broncos.
An 11-game starter as a rookie, Mathis saw his playing time reduced severely in 2024 as Riley Moss took over as Denver’s outside CB2 next to Patrick Surtain. He’s previously played for Panthers DC Ejiro Evero and could compete for playing time in Carolina. The Panthers also claimed WR Dalevon Campbell off waivers from the Chargers.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #81
Former Illinois junior WR Dalevon Campbell will commit to Nevada.
Campbell (6’4"/200) only had six catches for 98 receiving yards in three seasons with Illinois and appeared in two games last year. Nevada is looking for depth at wide receiver due to some graduates and transfers, and Campbell possesses a veteran presence and some size against most defensive backs.

  • LAC Wide Receiver #81
Former Illinois sophomore WR Dalevon Campbell will enter the transfer portal.
Campbell (6'4/200) was never able to see much playing time in his three years with Illinois. He’ll move to find somewhere for a fresh start, and with his size, that shouldn’t be a problem.

  • LAC Wide Receiver #81
Illinois received a verbal commitment from 2019 WR Dalevon Campbell.
It’s very late to be getting 2019 recruits, but Campbell has committed to the Fighting Illini after a visit to the campus. While not rated highly, this is an intriguing get because Campbell offers size (6'4/200) and speed (11.06 second 100-meter dash). It’s also worth pointing out that Illinois is not exactly loaded in skill position players on the outside. No guarantees, of course, but this could be a late steal for Lovie Smith and company.
