    Panthers signed WR Kobe Hudson.
After two seasons at Auburn, Hudson (6’1/193) transferred to UCF to start on the perimeter for three seasons. He led the Knights in receiving his last season with 47 receptions for 770 yards. Hudson possesses good size and can stretch the field, averaging 20.5 yards per reception in 2023 and 16.4 yards per reception for his college career. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein states Hudson can beat press coverage with “sudden lateral movements and acceleration,” but that Hudson only possesses “below average route-running.” The 23-year-old can be elusive and work after the catch, but needs to improve his route tree and contested catch ability to be successful in the NFL.
  • FA Wide Receiver #86
Former Auburn sophomore receiver Kobe Hudson transferred to UCF.
Hudson (6'1"/199) was the leading receiver for Auburn last year with 44 catches, 580 yards and four touchdowns. He follows his old coach Gus Malzahn to UCF, and the Knights are really building something special down there. Their offensive weapons are shaping up to be quite potent, and Hudson will be a big part of that. Hudson was reportedly kicked off the team versus actually wanting to transfer out, so if the off-field issues can be kept in check UCF has made out like bandits on this one.

  • FA Wide Receiver #86
Auburn sophomore WR Kobe Hudson intends to enter the transfer portal.
This came as a surprise, especially since Hudson (6'1/199) was the top pass catcher for the Tigers. On the season, Hudson amasses 44 catches for 580 yards and four touchdowns. The details behind him entering the transfer portal are interesting. Justin Ferguson of the Auburn Observer reported a screenshot that Hudson had on his Instagram that said “I never wanted to leave Auburn ever...I was kicked off the team.” This makes things a little more interesting, as this will be a situation to pay attention to.

  • FA Wide Receiver #86
Auburn sophomore WR Kobe Hudson (undisclosed) is in uniform for Saturday’s game against Alabama.
Hudson (6'1/199), who was injured during the Tigers’ loss to Mississippi State two weeks ago, appears to be good to go for the Iron Bowl. The sophomore wide receiver was held out of last weekend’s game against South Carolina, so he’s had some time to get closer to full strength. Hudson enters Saturday’s game with a 37-490-2 receiving line.

  • FA Wide Receiver #86
Auburn sophomore WR Kobe Hudson (undisclosed) will not be available for Saturday’s game against South Carolina.
Hudson (6'1/199) took a hard hit during the Tigers’ loss to Mississippi State, and he’ll miss at least one game as a result. Earlier in the week, Auburn HC Bryan Harsin said that the injury wasn’t believed to be one that would end Hudson’s season. Auburn has two games remaining after Saturday: next weekend’s Iron Bowl against Alabama, and their bowl game.

  • FA Wide Receiver #86
Auburn sophomore WR Kobe Hudson (undisclosed) who played in last Saturday’s 43-34 loss to Mississippi State, did not suffer a season-ending injury in the defeat.
Hudson (6'2/185) was hit on a play that most in the stadium and those watching from home would have assumed resulted in a targeting call and a likely ejection. Instead, the hit on Hudson went unpenalized and the only price paid for the hit is by Hudson. Head coach Bryan Harsin said that Hudson’s injury is not season-ending, which is good news for the sophomore receiver. Unfortunately, it may be bad enough to keep him out of Saturday’s game against South Carolina. Hudson is the leading receiver for the Tigers with a receiving line of 37/490/2 on 58 targets. If he is unable to go, we will likely see more looks for Demetris Robertson and Shedrick Jackson.

  • LV Wide Receiver #83
Auburn junior WR Seth Williams (lower body) took part in warmups ahead of Saturday’s game vs. Arkansas.
Williams (6'3/211) was injured late in last weekend’s 27-6 loss at Georgia, with Kobe Hudson replacing him in the lineup at the time. The junior wide receiver appears to be good to go for Saturday’s game against the Razorbacks, which is good news for QB Bo Nix and the rest of the Auburn offense.

  • LV Wide Receiver #83
Auburn junior WR Seth Williams left Saturday’s loss at Georgia during the fourth quarter with an apparent lower body injury.
Williams (6'3/211), who finished the game with three receptions and 34 receiving yards, limped off the field after running for a deep ball during the fourth quarter. Freshman Kobe Hudson replaced the junior standout at the time, and should Williams have to miss any action it’s likely that Hudson will be the one who’s asked to fill the void. Next up for Auburn is an October 10 home game against Arkansas.

  • FA Wide Receiver #86
Auburn received a verbal commitment from four-star 2020 ATH Kobe Hudson.
Hudson (6'2/185) was also kicking around SEC squads Alabama and Georgia, plus Willie Taggart’s FSU crew down in Tallahassee. He projects as a likely wideout for the collegiate ranks. Rivals’ Chad Simmons refers to the LaGrange, Georgia, native as a “an explosive playmaker who plays with no fear.” While Hudson is now committed to the Tigers, expect him to continue to make the visit rounds over the coming months.
  • FA Wide Receiver #86
Uncommitted four-star 2020 ATH Kobe Hudson said that he plans on making his pledge on April 13.
Hudson (6'2/185) is currently intrigued by Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Florida State. He’s visited the first three programs on that list, with a trip to Tallahassee in the cards for this week. The Lagrange, Georgia, native said that he had one school, in particular, which he was leaning toward, but is opting to keep that program under wraps for now. We’re at such an early stage in his recruitment that even after he commits later this month there’s still plenty of time for other schools to attempt to pry him off his pledge.
