Well, that certainly didn’t take long.
In January of this year, Kelvin Clemmons signed on as a part of Minnesota’s 2019 recruiting class. The cornerback even participated in the Gophers’ 15 spring practice sessions earlier this offseason.
For whatever reason, however, Clemmons has abruptly and unexpectedly decided to transfer from P.J. Fleck‘s football program. While the school has yet to confirm Clemmons’ departure, both the St. Paul Pioneer Press and Minneapolis Star-Tribune have.
Clemmons’ name is currently in the NCAA transfer database, which means he could still opt to remain with the Gophers if he undergoes a change of heart about leaving.
Clemmons came to Minnesota from Hutchinson Community College in Kansas. He was a three-star junior-college recruit.
