ANOTHER BOWL GAME IN SEATTLE?

Those who think there are too many bowl games in too many cities no one wants to visit in December will not be happy to know that Seattle may be close to getting a bowl game again. The Seattle Bowl disappeared after 2002 because of a lack of funding, but Ralph Morton, the executive director of the Seattle Sports Commission, briefed Pac-10 athletic directors on Tuesday about a plan to bring a bowl back to Seattle in December of 2010. The game would be played at Qwest Field and would likely match a team that finishes sixth, seventh or eighth in the Pac-10 with a team from a smaller conferenceMorton did say “We still have a long ways to go,” but this sounds like a game that has a good chance of getting off the ground. And, although I know many fans hate the idea of more bowl games -- we already have 34, which means that more than half the Division I-A teams get to play in a bowl -- I’m all for it. Who can complain about more football?
