The speculation over the future of Mike Bellotti will officially come to an end tomorrow as the Oregon head coach will announce he’s stepping down, The Oregonian is reporting.The school’s president, Dave Frohnmayer, announced today that Bellotti will become Oregon’s athletic director on July 1. A press conference involving Bellotti, current AD Pat Kilkenny and new head football coach Chip Kelly."I can’t say anything,” Kelly told the paper when asked about Bellotti. “Tomorrow I’ll answer any questions you have."Kelly was named as Bellotti’s successor early last December, although no timeline was given as to when the long-time coach would step down.As late as last week, Bellotti publicly stated he wasn’t certain which way he was leaning, although he hoped to have a decision made before the start of this year’s spring practice.The 59-year-old Bellotti has been at Oregon since 1989; the first six years as offensive coordinator, the last 14 as head coach.Bellotti finishes his coaching career at the school with a 116-55 record, including a 6-6 record in bowl games. Oregon also won or shared two PAC-10 titles under Bellotti, although the last one came in 2001.
