Buh-bye, International Bowl

We hardly knew ye.

After four unforgettable years in Toronto -- or maybe it was five, I don’t really remember -- The International Bowl will be shuttering its doors on the college game, The Toronto Sun is reporting.

(We’ll pause for a moment to allow the sobbing and the heart-wrenching cries of “WHY GOD WHY!!!” to subside... waiting... still waiting... and we continue...)

There has been no official cancellation of the game, but sources told the Sun that the bowl is no more.

Last season, just over 22,000 fans/people who went through the wrong door on accident saw South Florida hammer Northern Illinois.

Even with the International Bowl apparently dissolving, there will still be 36 bowls following the 2010 season. It was announced back in September that a bowl game would be played at new Yankee Stadium; earlier this month, officials revealed that the contest would be called the Pinstripe Bowl and would take place on Dec. 30 of this year.
