‘Cuse, Terps among schools on ex-OU QB’s visit list
A couple of months after deciding to leave Oklahoma, Drew Allen appears to be zeroing in on a transfer destination.
According to Bruce Feldman of CBSSports.com, the quarterback has visits planned for FBS programs Arkansas State, Maryland and Syracuse. No specific time frame for the visits was given.
As Allen will graduate from OU in May, the San Antonio product will be eligible to play immediately at an FBS school, provided he enrolls in a grad program not offered at his previous school.
In late January, Allen asked for and was granted a release from his OU scholarship. Allen decided to transfer primarily due to Blake Bell, the presumptive successor to Landry Jones at quarterback for the next couple of years.
A three-star member of OU’s 2009 recruiting class, Allen was rated by Rivals.comas the No. 15 pro-style quarterback in the country. He attempted just 30 passes during his time in Norman, with none of those coming during the 2012 season as Bell assumed an even bigger role in the offense than he did late during his freshman season in 2011.
