In a move that’s been expected since the announcement of a move was made late last month, former Oregon quarterback/receiver Chris Harper has officially announced his transfer to Kansas State.Harper said he’s known for awhile that he would land in Manhattan, but simply avoided telling the media that he’d made his mind up."I’m all set,” Harper told the Wichita Eagle. “I talked to Coach Snyder, Coach Miller, Joe Bob (Clements)... I talked to my family a while back about this, but I didn’t want to talk to (the media) about it."There were two reasons for Harper deciding to transfer from the Oregon football program. One, he wanted to be closer to his home -- that prompted Ducks head coach Chip Kelly to say that "[t]he one thing we can’t do is we can’t move Eugene, Oregon, closer to Kansas."And two, he simply wasn’t satisfied with how he was being used in Oregon. Specifically, he feels he’s a quarterback, while the coaching staff in Eugene were more than likely going to keep him as a wide receiver."I’m definitely going to be a quarterback,” Harper said, adding that he’s been working on both his throwing motion and footwork in an effort to regain a claim to a starting quarterback job.
