With the rumors and speculation as to whether or not Les Miles is, or isn’t, interviewing for the job at Michigan, one would expect some departures from NFL-ready underclassmen amidst the uncertainty.
For LSU’s All-American cornerback Patrick Peterson, that appears, as of now, to be the case.
The official announcement is set to come Monday, but a source close to Peterson told the Associated Press today that the junior will decide to forgo his senior season in Baton Rouge and try his luck in the NFL.
And with the all the accolades and numbers (4 INT’s, 2 TD’s on punt returns) Peterson has put up this season, it’s tough to argue against that decision.
Peterson also has NFL size, especially for the cornerback position, at six-foot-one, 222 lbs and could be a first-round pick.
