Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer said on Sunday that he has decided not to suspend running back Dontre Wilson and offensive lineman Marcus Hall for next week’s Big Ten title game after the two were ejected for fighting against Michigan.
Both players were involved in a skirmish following a second quarter kickoff. After Hall’s ejection, he flipped both his middle fingers at the crowd on his way to the locker room.
Buckeyes athletic director Gene Smith is supposed to meet with Meyer on Sunday to discuss the issue and then speak with Big Ten officials about it. A league spokesman said after the game that the conference would review the video of the incident before determining if any players would face further punishment. But with a potential BCS berth on the line for Ohio State, it’s unlikely that the conference will do anything to weaken its chances against the Spartans.
The No. 2 Buckeyes will travel to Indianapolis on Saturday to face No. 9 Michigan State for the Big Ten title.
