One player suspended, another gone for Mississippi State

At this point in the offseason, if it’s not injuries, it’s suspensions or departures. For Mississippi State, this falls under the latter two.

Via the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, linebacker Chris Hughes (pictured, bottom) has been indefinitely suspended and wide receiver Ricco Sanders will not return to the team in 2013. No specific reason was given for either case.

Hughes had 31 tackles in 2012 while Sanders caught just one pass for three yards.

This is not Hughes’ first suspension. He was sidelined for one game in 2010 for a helmet-to-helmet hit and was also suspended for the start of the 2011 season.
