The spigot on eligible underclassmen declaring for the NFL is just about wide open 10 days ahead of the deadline as a member of the Oklahoma secondary has decided to join teammates Gerald McCoy, Sam Bradford and Jermaine Gresham as early entrants into the draft.
Cornerback Dominique Franks is the latest Sooner to leave a year early, telling ESPN.com‘s Joe Schad making himself available for the draft is the best thing for him right now.
“It’s what’s best,” Franks said. “I can shut down one side of the field and I study and work hard enough to know what’s coming.
“I’m going to start training today to get stronger and make sure all my techniques are great for the [NFL scouting] combine.”
