What in the name of the Ol’ Ball Coach is going on?
In this morning’s Fifth Quarter, we mentioned that Steve Spurrier seemed to channel his inner Lane Kiffin when, after giving an opening statement following the thumping of Missouri, told the assembled media “I don’t need any questions” and abruptly walked out of the post-game presser.

The first tweet is from the Charleston Post and Courier‘s Darryl Slater, the second from The State‘s Josh Kendall.
In a followup tweet, the latter was asked "[w]hat’s got [Spurrier’s] panties in a knot?” “I have no idea,” Kendall wrote. Slater called it "[v]ery odd behavior,” adding that “Spurrier sounded upbeat in his postgame and Sunday opening statements. ... Didn’t sound angry.”
We’ve reached out to South Carolina for a comment on Spurrier’s decision to eschew questions from the media on back-to-back days.
