Packers signed WR Sam Brown Jr.
Brown is an undrafted free agent rookie who spent two college seasons at West Virginia, two more at Houston, and his fifth and final season at Miami. While he is extremely unlikely to be relevant in re-draft formats, Packers wide receiver scouts have done a good job of finding depth players in recent seasons. He could be a name to know for deep dynasty leagues. The Packers waived DE Jeremiah Martin in a corresponding move.

Former West Virginia sophomore WR Sam Brown will transfer to Houston.
Brown (6’2”/200) did not see much playing time in his two years with WVU as he recorded 10 catches for 108 yards. His projections coming out of high school was he has raw talent, and with his size, he can hopefully contribute more in Houston.

West Virginia redshirt sophomore WR Sam James is listed as the starting Z-receiver on the depth chart ahead of Saturday’s game vs. Oklahoma State.
James, who caught five passes for 72 yards and a score in the Mountaineers’ blowout win over Eastern Kentucky, moves into the starting role while last week’s starter (Sam Brown) is listed second. James seemed to have good chemistry with QB Jarrett Doege, which doesn’t hurt the wide receiver’s chances of having even more opportunities to make plays in the passing game. Brown and Ali Jennings, who missed the opener due to injury, share the second line on the depth chart.

West Virginia signed three-star 2020 WR Sam Brown.
Brown (6'2/186) was committed to UCF from mid-September up until last Thursday, when he reopened his recruitment. Florida was considered to be a serious contender after the Bloomingdale, Georgia, native backed off from the Knights, but WVU HC Neal Brown and staff snuck in for the signing deal steal when all was said and done. While just a three-star recruit by the base rankings, Brown has raw athletic upside to be tapped at the collegiate level.

Three-star 2020 WR Sam Brown announced his de-commitment from UCF on Thursday.
Brown (6'2/186) has a slew of SEC offers, so maybe it’s not too surprising he’s opted to bail from UCF to potentially pick up one of those offers. Most notably, Brown has an offer from Ole Miss, who just hired offensive genius Lane Kiffin to be their new HC. Brown has not announced anything recently about going to Ole Miss, but that does seem the most logical option for a trending WR recruit such as himself.
