Raiders signed Duke WR Conner Vernon.
Vernon (6-foot 1/4, 196) was quarterback Sean Renfree’s favorite receiver for the Blue Devils, catching 85 balls for 1,074 yards (12.6 YPR) and eight touchdowns as a senior. He ran 4.68 at the Combine with a 32.5-inch vertical, exhibiting little athleticism. Vernon runs pretty routes and has clay hands, so perhaps he’ll get a look in the slot.

    Raiders waived WR Conner Vernon.
A UDFA out of Duke, Vernon was Sean Renfree’s go-to wideout with the Blue Devils. Anytime you can’t make the Raiders, it’s time to start thinking about hanging up the cleats.

Browns waived WR Conner Vernon, LB Brandon Magee, and DB Royce Adams.
It’s not a good sign for former Duke star Vernon that the most wideout-needy team in football cut him before camp even began. Magee has dabbled in both baseball and football. Adams was just a practice body for the offseason.

Bengals waived WR Conner Vernon, WR Jeremy Johnson, and DT Zach Minter.
They all opened camp on the outside looking in at roster spots.

Lions waived WR Conner Vernon, RB Steven Miller, OG Alex Bullard, DE Kris Redding, OG A.J. Dalton, and DT Greg Hickman.
There are no surprises with these cuts. Vernon and Miller were trying to make the Lions on special teams. Bullard was competing for the backup left guard job.
