Raiders signed TE Cooper Helfet, CB Kenneth Durden, DE Jimmy Bean, WR K.J. Brent, DE Demetrius Cherry, WR Jaydon Mickens, TE Ryan O’Malley, and OGs Ian Silberman and Oni Omoile to reserve/future contracts.
Helfet is a former Seahawks player. Bean went undrafted out of Oklahoma State last year despite prolific college pass-rush stats.
  • FA Tight End
Seahawks TE Cooper Helfet is out indefinitely with a cracked bone in his foot that will require surgery.
The injury will hurt Helfet’s roster chances, especially when combined with the Seahawks’ third-round selection of Nick Vannett. A reserve tight end with some special teams value, Helfet is coming off of a 13-catch season.
  • FA Tight End
Seahawks waived TE Cooper Helfet with an injury settlement.
Helfet appeared in 24 games over the past two seasons, catching 25 passes. Helfet has value on special teams. He’s recovering from a “cracked bone” in his foot. Once he gets back to full health, he’ll be worth a flier for TE-desperate teams like the Steelers.
  • FA Tight End
Seahawks waived/injured TE Cooper Helfet, FB/TE Brandon Cottom, TE Ronnie Shields, RB Tre Madden, and DE David Perkins.
The waived/injured guys will hit I.R. when they clear waivers. Helfet needs surgery after breaking a bone in his foot. To replace the above five players on their 90-man roster, the Seahawks signed RB Jonathan Amosa, LB Kache Palacio, RB Troymaine Pope, WR Uzoma Nwachukwu, and TE Joe Sommers.
  • FA Tight End
ESPN Seahawks reporter Terry Blount believes TE Cooper Helfet is “likely” to make the team.
A fourth-year UDFA out of Duke, Helfet saw his first game action last season, hauling in 12 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games. Helfet does not offer much as a blocker and will not be given many chances in the passing game behind Jimmy Graham and Luke Willson, but he is a special teams asset. Helfet will battle Anthony McCoy for what will likely be one roster spot.
  • FA Tight End
Cooper Helfet caught 4-of-6 targets for 42 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 17 win over the Cardinals.
Helfet ends the regular season with 13 catches for 130 scoreless yards. He’ll split tight end duties with Chase Coffman in the Wild Card round if Luke Willson (concussion) isn’t ready.
  • FA Tight End
Cooper Helfet sprained his ankle during Sunday’s Week 12 win over the Cardinals.
Helfet did well to catch a 20-yard touchdown that sealed the 19-3 win in the fourth quarter, but went down and did not return after that. His status is uncertain. Helfet, splitting time with Tony Moeaki, saw just two targets on the day.
  • FA Tight End
Cooper Helfet (ankle) did not practice Tuesday.
Helfet sprained his ankle in Week 12. He caught a 20-yard touchdown in the game, but his status for Thursday night is up in the air on a short week.
  • FA Tight End
Cooper Helfet (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 13 against the 49ers.
Luke Willson and Tony Moeaki will handle tight end duties Thanksgiving Night.
