He was on an Exhibit 10 deal, so the expectation was always that he’d get cut ahead of the regular season.

Neither player had a realistic chance of making the team. This brings the roster down to 18, so there are more cuts to come.

Deng played for Toronto’s G League affiliate last season before signing a two-way contract with the Cavs in January. He appeared in 19 games for the Cavs and averaged 1.7 points in 10.2 minutes.

Yes there’s some opportunity in Cleveland with Rodney Hood now in Portland, but Adel didn’t help himself tonight and Nik Stauskas will likely leapfrog him in the rotation right away once he’s cleared. Adel is miles off the fantasy radar.

The undrafted rookie will join Collin Sexton, Alec Burks, David Nwaba and Ante Zizic in a lineup that should improve Cleveland’s chances of landing Zion Williamson. Adel is still a bit of a mystery box with an average of 9.7 minutes across seven appearances and isn’t on the fantasy radar yet.

We don’t anticipate the two-way player to make an impact in fantasy hoops this season.

Adel went undrafted out of Louisville, but does have pro potential. However, he is likely to spend the majority of next season in the G-League and can be ignored in all fantasy formats.

Even if he’s able to edge out one of the two-way guys for the 15th spot on the regular-season roster, he won’t be seeing any meaningful floor time. This is Tom Thibodeau’s team, after all.
